Tuesday Writing Prompt

Today’s prompt:

The theme or word to use is “serenity.”

~*~*~

The sky is getting lighter

The purples changing into blues

A time for awakening of the world

A time of quiet and serenity

How precious is this moment

When I sit here at peace with the world

Just me and my thoughts!

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Just a moment

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt: Write a piece of prose or poetry that ends with in the end, we were just a moment”.

<^><^><^><^>

We lived a thousand years in this world

A millennium has passed, centuries have gone by

Time went by in the blink of an eye

In the end, we were just a moment

Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge: Tuesday, July 28, 2020-

TuesdayWriting

Today’s prompt: Write a piece of prose or poetry around the words cursive, touch, and forget

Cursive writing was once my strong suit

I used to wow my teachers and classmates alike

There may have been spelling mistakes in my submission

But it looked very pretty and delighted the beholder

Now I don’t write that much and have lost touch

With that ability when writing on paper was my forte

But I didn’t forget it completely, and you can still see

If I make a paper list, it still looks pretty

Tuesday Writing Prompt- If….

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge.

Today’s prompt: Write a poem using the phrase “if we never”

~*~

How simple life would be if we never regretted

If we never looked back on yesterday with longing

If we never lost heart and the will to succeed

If we never gave up on ourselves and our abilities

How enriched our world be today if we would

Resolve to be better today than we were yesterday

If we worked hard to learn from our mistakes

And if we believed in ourselves and made it work

The secret to success lies not in looking backward

But forging ahead with determination!

Tuesday Writing Prompt

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge.

Today’s prompt: Write a poem or piece of prose around the words “in the stillness”

~*~

A shout is heard even louder

In the stillness of the silence

Let them hear my words

My message is clear for all

Listen please for time is short

If things are not set straight

If the broken system not mended

There will be repercussions unavoidable

Don’t let this opportunity slip you by

Fix the injustice and the inequalities

Time is right, for the consciences are

Now finally awake, in the stillness of silence

Thursday Inspiration – Moon

Paula is the host of Thursday Inspiration

This week’s theme is moon and the picture is below. Here is the song snippet from “Moondance,” a 1970 song from Van Morrison.

Well, it’s a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
‘Neath the cover of October skies

Cats on a roof with a full moon

~*~

A full moon in the hazy night sky

Mystical moonlight silvery nightscape

Silhouette trees look eerie, bushes threatening

Each shadow looks menacing

Tentative steps hesitant approach

Afraid of wishers weary of rustling

Heart beating wildly, drops of sweat on forehead

Finally relief as I cross into my threshold

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Faceless

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt: Write a piece of prose around the word: “faceless”

~*~

The faceless fear haunts us

We give in to it without resistance

Fear of failure or fear of underachieving

Fear of not living up to the expectations

Expectations of our parents or our families

This fear cripples the creativity we all carry

And makes us slaves of the mundane routine

Face the fear

Give it a face

Face of ordinary

And shun it altogether

Rise and reach for the sky

Reach for your own goals

Not the ones set for you by others

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Sirens

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge which was started by our star writer Christine Ray. We hope to offer all of you something that will spark your creativity and willingness to participate.

Today’s prompt: Write a piece of prose around the word: “sirens”

~*~

There is something haunting and lonely

In the sound of sirens deep in the silent night

Whenever I hear that echoing sound my heart prays

For the safety of those going on the rescue mission

And those being rescued from the challenges they are facing

Still, it feels reassuring too that help in nearby

The sirens herald angels coming to the rescue

~*~

Rainbows in the sky stimulates the imagination

A romantic dreamer looks up and sees so many possibilities

The cynic just sees colors split by drops of water in the atmosphere

The dreamer sees wonder and magic in each layer of translucent color

What would you want to be, a hardened skeptic or a beautiful dreamer?

~*~

Tuesday Writing Prompt;

Today’s prompt: Use “beautiful dreamer” in a piece of poetry or prose
