Tuesday Writing Prompt – Mystical fire

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge.

Today’s Prompt: Use fire, mystic, and identity in prose or poetry

➰➰➰

I lost my identity in my worldly pursuits

I wandered without purpose, without aim for days, years

Finding my self was a Herculean task as I didn’t know

Where to look and where to seek counsel

I then met a sage who opened my eyes to the truth

I burned in the mystical fire to find my soul in the ashes

I discovered that I share my identity with the universe

I just needed to open that inner eye that sees miracles

➰➰➰

Tuesday Writing Prompt – A life well lived

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt— Write a poem using evanescence, trill, and longevity

♾♾♾

I pray that I pass into evanescence gracefully

I don’t seek the thrill of longevity

But wish for a life well-lived, well spent

A life that had a purpose and aim to it

A life where I managed to live up to the standards I had set for myself

What is the use of long life I ask you

When it also will pass in a blink of an eye

Be it fifty years or an even hundred years

It will be over before you really know it

I want my soul to be free, to trill like a bird, joyfully

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Burry hatchets

Today’s prompt— Write a poem using “bury hatchets under buried bodies”

♾♾♾

Anger and revenge seldom serve any other purpose

Than to further agitated and disturb our peace of mind

Hate is the poison that seeps into our blood and soul

It’s the punishment we give to ourselves for the misdeeds of others

Let the anger die a death of starvation

And burry hatchet of revenge under buried bodies of acrimonious emotions

The sun is at its zenith

Casting golden glow on land

Brilliant sunshine,Illuminates everything

Hanging in the brilliantly lit starry nights

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Heaven

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt—Heaven in her eyes

♾♾♾

I found heaven in her eyes

As I gazed into those deep dark pools

A feeling of serenity rose up to meet me

And I found heaven in her eyes

Her love shone true and pure

Selfless and generous

As she offered all that she treasured

With the love that shone through her eyes

And I found my heaven in her love

The love of a mother, benevolent and kind

Her heart holding mine in a hug of comfort

And her eyes shedding tears of happiness

And for a moment, we both experienced paradise

Tuesday Writing Prompt -Key to becoming a good blogger

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge.

Today’s prompt: Write a poem that ends with the word “key

♾♾♾♾

What in your opinion is the key to being a successful blogger?

In my opinion, blogging is all about connecting with your reader.

If you have a niche, the reader/ follower would know that and they would read your latest post to get updated about it.

If you’re a writer of stories or poetry, interested people will be logging in to read them. Whatever you write, the people who feel a connection will be there to read your posts.

How to develop this connection?

There are many ways to connect to your reader;

• Write genuine content, something that is original and comes straight from you. Even a researched post should have that special touch that only you can give it.

• Get to know your readers/ followers. Read their comments, respond to them, and appreciate their interest and effort. Do visit their blogs and even if you don’t follow them, read a post and if you like, comment as well. Getting to know the person behind the blog is important as it develops a rapport with them.

•Content is the key! Never take it lightly. Put effort into creating your content and make sure it is free of mistakes, spelling errors, or grammatical ones.

Remember that it will take time! Nothing will happen overnight, or even in a few months. So have realistic expectations and don’t get despondent if you don’t see instant results.

Don’t compare your blog to any one else’s! Comparison just creates unreal expectations or disappointments.

These are a few points that have helped me in my blogging journey.

Here’s another post of mine about writing, that you may find helpful.

Thanks for visiting and reading.

Tuesday Writing Prompt – Raising young ones

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt: Write a poem that uses the words negative, balance, and erosion.

Negative criticism undercuts their confidence
You need to nurture their fledging and tender growth
Even when you correct them never be brutal and direct
For some messages can cause erosion of their self esteem
Raising young ones need a delicate balance between
Being just and kind
And wise and understanding

Tuesday Writing Prompt & Lynn’s Tuesday Picture Prompt # 47

Glen is the host of LTPP and Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Art(including pictures and images)should evoke an emotional response in those who are viewing them. That’s why art can leave such a long-lasting and poignant imprint within the depths of our psyche

Your challenge or writing prompt is this:

  • what emotions or feelings get evoked or aroused in you when you look at this photograph taken by Lynn

Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to tell me and others exactly what the picture is.

The creative goal for all of us is “what does the picture evoke in youwhat emotion; feeling; memory or whatever it may be – what does it arouse in you and to share it that with others.

Our Week 47 picture is a slow shutter speed capture of a section of “Little High Falls” in Bracebridge, Ontario.

♾♾♾

Before this moment it touched a million surfaces

Now reaching its destination it cascades in so many falls

Water

It has been everywhere and has seen everything

It passes no judgments, it condemns no one

A silent spectator, a neutral observer

It gives life, it grows life it IS life

But we recklessly waste it, pollute it, contaminate it

It’s time to give respect to this life giving nectar

♾♾♾

Today’s prompt: Write a poem that starts with before this moment

Tuesday Writing Prompt- Justice and Equality

Devereaux Frazier and Beth Amanda are currently hosting the Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

Today’s prompt: Write a poem on justice and equality.

♾♾♾

There can be no justice, nor any illusion of justice

If all are not treated equally, without prejudice

“A society that is cruel can survive but not a society which is unjust”

The Lofty ideals we aspire to would crumble like dust

If our treatment of each and every citizen is not equal

The law, the rules, the way everyone is treated

Has to be meted our without favor or prejudice
