Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;

What are some of the things that people do that make you feel uncomfortable?

If we talk about the situation nowadays, mask less people make me very uncomfortable. People who have no idea what personal space is are also in this category.

People who have loud arguments in public places make me specially uncomfortable and embarrassed. I have realized that I have a long list of things that people do which make feel uncomfortable. So I will stop right here and wait for your feed back.

What things make you uncomfortable that people do in public?

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

Today my question to you is;

What do you forget to do on a regular basis?

I am usually good at remembering the important stuff, like taking my meds on time or washing my hair on alternate days.

Checking the front door before sleeping is one thing I do regularly. Also checking that all the electrical appliances are switched off before I go to bed is one thing I don’t forget.

But there are little things that I forget, regularly. One of them is flossing at night. One reason is that I’m very bad at the technique and usually make my gums bleed. Another thing that I forget, especially in winters is to wash my face properly before sleeping and put on the night cream that I have sitting on my nightstand! Perhaps that’s the reason that this night cream lasts a long time! 😂

I guess I only remember the important things and forget those I feel aren’t that important.

What about you; Is there something you forget on a regular basis?

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;

Have you ever been hurt by your expectations?

I used to have great expectations. For the longest time, I believed that people would do the right thing, the kind thing. But I got disappointed so many times that I learned my lesson.

The lesson was that; If you don’t want to get hurt and lose your faith in humanity, don’t have expectations, from anyone!

This hard learned lesson has now saved me from not only getting emotionally hurt but has also saved my relationship with my family and friends. If they do something good or kind, I am pleasantly surprised and if they don’t, it doesn’t matter to me.

So what about you?

Do you have expectations from others or not? Have you ever been hurt because they didn’t do as expected?

Welcome to Sunday Poser # 61. The First Sunday of 2022

My first question for you all this year is;

What is your passion?

We all have that one thing that we are passionate about. Some are passionate about their jobs, while others about their hobbies. Some are very much into keeping their space tidy and organized.

My passion is being helpful to others. Even strangers! I have to stop myself to offer advice to people who are debating an issue. It is with great effort I keep my mouth shut till someone asks me for my help or advice.

Where family and friends are concerned, I am always available to help them with advice or physical or financial help. Sometimes it is enough to just listen and let them talk it out. Helping someone gives such a good feeling to me.

So what are you passionate about?

Welcome to Sunday Poser

My question this Sunday is;

How was your Christmas Day?

I don’t celebrate Christmas, being a Muslim. So I enjoyed a nice relaxing day at home with breakfast ordered from McDonald’s and a mochaccino made at home. The rest of the day was given to self-pampering, reading, and writing for my blog and I stated “Murder on the links” by Agatha Christie.

How was your day?

Today my question is;

How absent minded are you?

The other day I was frantically searching for my phone. It suddenly occurred to me that since I was talking to my husband at that moment, my phone was in my hand! 😛

These oops moments are fairly common for me. I make a ritual of taking my meds at night so that I remember that I took all the meds. But even then I wonder later if I took my night meds or not! I feel that it’s not forgetfulness but absent-mindedness. I do things instinctively and my conscience brain doesn’t register them.

What about you; Do you forget things are are you absent-minded? Or perhaps preoccupied?

As festive season approaches for a lot of people in the world, it’s time to get fancy!

My question this week is;

How much though you give to your appearance?

On ordinary days, I just use an eyeliner after my morning skincare regimen. Eyes are the only part of the face visible over the mask. I do dress modestly and appropriately every day, but I don’t put much effort into it if I’m just going to pick up my grandson from school or going to the mall for a bit of shopping. In fact, wearing thick wooly socks with my sandals makes me think I look like an old granny, which, BTW, I totally am, three times over.

Things were different when I wasn’t always wearing a mask when I was going out. I used to do a minimal amount of makeup and put some effort in making sure that my hair is styled well. I think the pandemic has infected my sense of fashion as well.

I think it is nice to dress up once in a while though. I love to dress up, put on some makeup and perhaps even wear a ring or two when I’m meeting friends or family. I keep aside a few dressy ensembles for special occasions and though I haven’t used my lipsticks in a long while ( almost two years) I wear them to look festive.

What about you? Do you spend some time on your appearance or just do the very minimal?

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

We have a whole galaxy of blog titles. Some are simply named after the blogger and others hold an aura of mystery. Sometimes we don’t even know the name or handle of the blogger and have no way of addressing them by name unless we want to call them by their blog name!

My blog is called, “Keep it alive” and my blogging moniker is Sadje. Though Sadje is not my real name, it’s close to my real name and gives something to others to address me by.

I titled my blog Keep it alive because I had seen too many women of my age , empty nesters who weren’t doing much with their lives. Just existing, not living with gusto. I wanted to inspire them to live fully, and hence the name.

This is the story behind my blog name/ title. What is yours?

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;

Do you ever feel lonely? And if you do, how do you overcome the feeling?

There are certain times of the year when people get together to celebrate. And during those days, sometimes families or friends cannot be with us. At this time loneliness can strike. We feel sad and sort of let down.

I also feel lonely sometimes especially when my family or friends cannot be there to celebrate with me. Loneliness is a natural feeling. It reminds us of the fact that we enjoy the presence of others in our lives.

When I feel lonely, I talk to myself, remind myself of the numerous blessings I have in life and when the feeling is because of a certain person, I remember all the times they went out of their way for me. I find solace in my memories of good times I’ve seen and my feeling of loneliness disappear in the overwhelming gratitude I experience.

What about you? If you feel lonely how do you counter this feeling?

Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is related to Thanksgiving holiday in USA.

At this moment, What are you grateful for?

It is easy to say that I am grateful for this or that in my life, but it needs real mindfulness to appreciate our blessings. Saying things in a way that we mean them too, is what enriches our lives.

Today, at this moment I am grateful for my family. Though many are away from me, we are connected with bonds of love which are stronger than the distance that divides us. My husband, my three children and their families are my best treasure in life. And among my family, I include my friends in real life and those in my virtual family. As I was telling my Aunt today that the one unexpected advantage of Blogging was that I found so many wonderful friends who are kind, sincere and generous.

Thank you all my friends for being a part of my family.
