Welcome back to week # 16 of Sunday Poser

My question this week is this;

Are you better at expressing yourself in writing word or in spoken words?

I feel if I write something down, I can better express my feelings and emotions. That’s why I use texts and emails when I want to explain myself properly, without leaving a doubt as to what I am trying to say.

The advantage of writing something down is that you can proofread it and tweak it till you’re satisfied that it says exactly what you want to say.

While sometimes spoken words can create a lot of misunderstandings or misconceptions. A hurriedly given answer can be taken totally the wrong way, making situations worse or even funny.

So I prefer to express myself in writing, whenever I can. Though in a conversation that’s not possible because how silly I’d look, trying to write my replies instead of talking. I think I should weigh my words very carefully when having a meaningful or important conversation.

Anyway, that’s my preference. What is yours?

Welcome back to week 15 of Sunday Poser

Now, this is a very obvious question to be asking on Valentine’s Day!

What does love mean to you?

I think for myself, the best description of love is, putting the interest and welfare of someone above my own. Any love, be it familial, romantic, or between friends, one is willing to go beyond one’s own comfort zone for the other person.

It could mean staying up late to lend an ear to their rantings, or a helping hand to finish a project. Eating something disgusting and still smiling and praising their cooking. Or it could mean sitting outside an operation theater and waiting anxiously for news.

Love has so many faces and forms but for me, it spells care and affection.

What does ❤️ it mean for you?

Welcome to a new Sunday Poser

My question this week is directed to those of my blogger friends who write in response to prompts, as well as doing their own posts.

Are you more inspired by word prompts, images, or phrases?

Personally, for me, it could be an image or a phrase that would click with my thinking and would help me in writing something that I would be proud of.

Images are versatile in the sense that they can project different sensations and ideas into the viewer’s mind. Words though can have different meanings but they have limitations as to where you can go with them. I used to combine a few of the daily prompts and make a post out of them. I stopped doing it due to scarcity of time and the fact I was posting too many posts a day. But I do miss that challenge.

So what about you?

What inspires you more, a word or an image?

Please share your thoughts in the comments section.

Waiting keenly for your responses.

Thanks for reading and visiting.

Welcome to week 13 of Sunday Poser

My question to you this week is;

Are you easily pleased or is there something special you need to make you happy?

I was struck by this idea one day when I was very excited to go grocery shopping. It occurred to me that I need very little excitement to make me happy. Changing out of the usual clothes, putting on a bit of eye makeup, and going to do something mundane was enough to make my day special.

Maybe it’s pandemic or something in my temperament but even a slight change makes my day better. Makes me happy.

What about you?

What does it takes to make you happy?

Welcome to another Sunday Poser

Nostalgia hits us unawares. Certain songs, smells, or photographs trigger these feelings when we would remember events or people and places of the past with longing.

I feel nostalgic when I hear a song from my younger days. Any favorite which I used to listen to constantly, as young people are prone to do.

The feeling: “Ah those were the days” is mostly tinted with rose-colored memories. We delete the unpleasant things from our past and magnify the good ones.

But it is still enjoyable to take a walk down the memory lane and relive those carefree days in our memory. I am very lucky that I am in touch with most of my childhood friends and we still have the same level of camaraderie with each other. The best kind of nostalgic trips are the ones we take together with our friends. The phrase, ” do you remember when…. ” starts an avalanche of memories of good and funny moments from the past.

What triggers your nostalgia and where does it takes you?

Kindly share your thoughts in the comments.

Welcome to another Sunday Poser

We are in the third week of 2021 already.

We naturally look forward to the start of the new year with hope and aspirations. But this year is not ordinary. It is preceded by a very difficult year in the memory of most people alive.

My question this week is;

What are you excited or apprehensive about this year?

I am excited about the new covid vaccine. We are hoping to get vaccinated when it becomes available to us. That will reduce the amount of stress we experience when anyone of us has to venture out of our home for work or essential shopping.

What I am apprehensive about is that people will relax their guard too soon and would treat the vaccine as a panacea and stop taking proper precautions. That would be so very dangerous.

What are your hopes and fears regarding this year?

Please share your thoughts in the comments section.

Welcome to the 10th week of Sunday Poser

In most countries of the northern hemisphere, it is the winter season. We look forward to different seasons for different reasons.

Please share what is your favorite activity during this season?

I love snuggling in my duvet during winter nights, writing my blog or watching a good movie. It becomes even more idyllic when you add a steaming hot cup of decaf coffee to this scene. Since I am a lazy/ indoor person, winter sports never appealed to me. The best I can do is to go for a nice walk, appropriately bundled up.

What is that you love to do in winters?

Please share your thoughts in the comments.

Welcome to the 9th week of this challenge.

We all have something that we are missing and have not been able to do for the last 9 – 10 months because of lockdown restrictions.

I’m looking forward to eating out at restaurants with my friends when the lockdown restrictions end.

It was a regular practice of ours to eat out at least once a month. But since the pandemic, we haven’t been able to do so. That is one thing I am missing a lot. We would go for breakfast, lunch, or tea and afterward go shopping together. We would advise each other what to buy and what would suit them. Sometimes we would catch a movie too.

I am hoping that after we all are vaccinated against covid and the cases are on the decline, we can make plans again.

What is one thing you’d do when you can go out freely?

Please share your thoughts in the comments or you can write your own post and link it to this.

Welcome to week 8 of this prompt! This is the last question for 2020!

Today my question is ;

What are the things you would like to see changed in 2021?

You can take this in a personal sense and share what is that you plans to change in your own self, it could be regarding health, work-wise or maybe in your blogging. Or you can talk about changes in the world around you!

For me personally, I would definitely want to see a change in how we are treating our planet. The covid-19 has driven home the fact that we cannot, should not carry on like we are doing till now. We need to be more aware of the damage done by our thoughtless behavior and rectify it.

Moreover, I would like to see unity and brotherhood reawakened. The divisions created by Trump and his like-minded cronies has to end. It’s high time we realize one simple fact. We are all the same under the color of our skin. More binds us than divides us.

I would love to see kindness be more in vogue and selfishness banned to the corner.

And needless to say that like everyone else, I would love to see the danger Covid-19 posed to the human race retreat and diminish by the administration of the anti-virus vaccine to most people.

What are your wishes for the coming year?

Please share your thoughts in the comments or in a post of your own. Do link it to my post so that I can find your post.

Welcome to the 7th week of Sunday Poser

This week share with us what is the thing you love/ like the best about Christmas/ Hanukkah/ any other religious/ cultural festival that you celebrate?

Being a Muslim, I don’t celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah but I celebrate Eid. Eid falls on a different date each year as it is determined by the lunar calendar. What I love about Eid is that it is a family festival. All my children and their families come over to our home and we have a family meal together.

There is a tradition of giving Eidi to the younger generation, like kids and grandchildren. Eidi is usually given as cash and then people buy whatever they want with it. The younger generation usually give presents as Eidi to their elders.

When I was young, I used to look forward to Eid and getting Eidi from my father, grandparents, uncles, and aunts. At the end of the day, we would count the money and make plans on how to spend it.

Please do share your favorite thing about the coming festival season.
