Bane of my life!

I cannot wear anything that confines my flat feet, I need them to be left free to breathe. I have spend so much time, money and effort on trying to get comfortable walking shoes only to find out that they either give me blisters or blue and bruised toes.

Some I could return to understanding retailers others had to be donated. And finally I have sworn off trying to get walking shoes or closed shoes for winter.

So what do I wear when I go walking, or when it is snowing outside and it is prudent to wear socks?

Fitflops !

These are podiatrist approved open shoes and have special soles which give arch support. Here are a few of them:

So I have bought them in lots of colors and have hoarded them on sales as they are pretty expensive otherwise.

People are often surprised to see me walking in these without socks even in snow, but I cannot tolerate any other type of foot wear.

Paula has asked us to share something we love, for each day of the month of February.

This is also my love # 13 for the month of February.

She opened her closet once again and touched her fine silk gown. It was so beautiful. The fabric was so smooth that it flowed like water on touch.

Tomorrow…..

She smiled a satisfied smile. Tomorrow I’ll wear this dress and Max will surely notice me not as a friend but as a woman. I will look my best and will stand out in that crowd. He will ask me to dance with him and we will be the envy of every couple.

Her phone pinged and a message appeared on the screen.

“I needed you to be the first one to know as you’re my best friend. Cynthia has agreed to be my wife! Congratulate me! Max”

Tears flowed from her eyes as her dreams lay shattered into tiny fragments.

There was a bunch of wildflowers by the door

Tied with a blue ribbon, no card or name attached

She picked them and held them close to her heart

Every day, without fail these flowers appeared by her door

She could guess it was some who admired her secretly

And though she often tried to find out who it was

All her effort yielded no results, till one day

She caught sight of a man leaving the flowers

It was the homeless guy in the park she often helped

He wanted to show his gratitude or perhaps something more

But she never showed him that she knew it was him

This strange courtship continued for many months

One day he knocked and gave her the flowers himself

He was dressed well and now had a job as well

Now he could tell her how much he admired her

As the troubles that are yet to come, are easily tackled

With a good breakfast in my belly and laughter ringing in my ears

( I do love going out for breakfast with friends and it is a great way to start the day!)
