JusJoJan January 5 2021- Gurgle

Linda is the host of JusJoJan

Gurgle

A gurgle of sweet laughter woke me up from sleep. It was my 20 months old granddaughter! She had just come with her mom, my youngest daughter.

There is an amazing power in children’s laughter that delights your heart and makes you smile too. She has such delightful manners and is intrinsically a happy child. If you are laughing, she joins you with a pretend laugh and then will be totally amused when you are with her response.

A child’s laughter, sunshine after gray sky, a rainbow after the rain, and acts of kindness; These are the things of joy, free yet priceless!

JusJoJan- January 4,2021- Fingertips

Linda is the host of JusJoJan

There was a time when I could remember a lot of things just like that! You could say I had them at my fingertips. Phone numbers, addresses, names of distant relatives, I could recall them all.

Then my thyroid started to act up. Or you can say, it gave up and my memory because absolutely abysmal. I would buy stuff and then forget about it and buy some more, like groceries or toiletries. It became very worrying and when I had a through check-up, it all was contributed to my hypothyroidism.

I am on medication for last 22 years but there are big chunks of my memory which are lost to me. I don’t say lost forever because one never knows when they may surface up!

This faulty memory has some advantages too. If someone ( usually a family member) accuses me of something I failed to do in the long distant past, or did something wrong, I can say with a clear conscience that I just don’t remember any such incident.

Now I have my phone and Google at my fingertips! Answer to everything one wants to know.

JusJoJan- January 3 2021- Servant

Linda is the host of JusJoJan

Your servant ma’am!

Jefferson bowed politely before stepping back and letting Jane pass. She was overwhelmed by the attention and courtesy shown to her at her uncle’s home. Jefferson was a young associate of his late uncle and was being very attentive.

Today her uncle’s will was to be read. A few relatives that she had, had been informed of this event. They all were gathered here.

As the lawyer finished reading the will, Jane sat there as if turned to stone. She was an heiress! She couldn’t believe it.

Now the excessive attention of Jefferson started to make sense. He must have an ax to grind. All the family was fawning over her too. Jane made a decision, she would get her mom to come as stay with her. At least, she could be trusted.

JusJoJan- Stream Of Consciousnesses Saturday- January 2, 21

Linda is the host of Stream Of Consciousnesses Saturday

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “in the corner.” Write about whatever the image or thought of “in the corner” brings to mind. Have fun!

➰➰➰➰➰➰

Go stand in the corner!

Have you ever been the one told to?

Or were you the one telling someone to do so?

Why do people have to punish with humiliation

Why cannot discipline be enforced through reasoning

One thing that I am so glad about that has changed with time

Is now we all are cognizant that all people, young or old

Have dignity that should be respected, never be trampled over

And punishment shouldn’t ever be a form of humiliation

JusJoJan’2021 – Ist January – Speech

Linda is the host of JusJoJan

Excuse me……………

I am so fond of making speeches

Uninvited and unsolicited speeches

Advice on how to do things properly

Sermons on how you should be living your life

Excuse me……………

But it is the human inside of me who wants to

Make everything right and make everyone happy

It’s not my fault but the OCD in me that makes me

Go up the podium, grab the mic, and ……

Excuse me!

January is finished! Did you jot every day?

Whether or not you did, you deserve a pat on the back if you participated in Just Jot it January at least once. In celebration, I’d like to offer you two things:

A chance to write a reflection post on your JusJoJan journey of 2020 and post a link below … Yes! This is a bonus prompt for you! 😀

A badge to put on that post, and to keep if you’d like to add it to your blog. Here it is.

For the second year in a row , I participated in JusJoJan Challenge hosted by Linda!

As she said this is not only an opportunity to write and post daily on fun prompts provided by our own community, it was also an opportunity to get connected with other like-minded bloggers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and got to read wonderful posts by other bloggers too. And as usual, the most interesting part was the diversity and the similarities of our outlook on different prompts.

Posting daily and being vigilant about the prompts kept me involved with this challenge.

Thank you so much, Linda, for hosting this wonderful challenge every year!

JusJoJan # 31 – Controlling Chaos

Linda is the host of JusJoJan.

Today’s prompt is; Chaos

Given to us by; Robbie Ann

~*~

Making sense out of chaos

Always trying to sort it into order

All these scattered and disorganized

Bits of stuff laying in my disordered mind

I like it to be neat and tidy, but you know what?

It always spoils my efforts on neatly organizing

My thoughts, ideas, and feelings into harmony

By going off into tangents, hopping from thought to thought

Wandering here and there

Going back and forth, hither and thither

I cannot control my mind

I let it thrive in chaos

January is almost finished and so is the JusJoJan Challenge. This is the second year that I have done it. In fact it’s my second January, blogging, as I started my blog in September,2018. Last year when I did this challenge, it helped me with the routine of posting everyday. Thank you so much Linda for giving us this wonderful challenge every year. The prompts this year were great too.

What I really like about these prompts is how different we all see them and each of us comes up with a unique take on it. Here’s to creativity!

” Staying positive does not means that things will turn out okay, rather it is knowing YOU will be okay, no matter how things turn out”

There is much to be said for having a positive attitude. Practicing positivity improves our outlook in life!

JusJoJan # 28- Television

Linda is the host of JusJoJan.

Today’s prompt is; Television

Given to by; Barbara

~*~

Now here’s a topic that I don’t have anything much to say about. I don’t watch television much. I feel it’s a waste of time. I used to watch television before I started blogging but now I seldom have the time or the desire to spend hours staring at the screen. If I feel like catching a movie, I head to the cinema because I enjoy that experience much more.

As kids, we used to love watching television, cartoons, and kids’ programs. We used to wait for them and would be willing to do extra chores for the privilege to watch more tv. But I guess with age one loses the fascination for the tube. And the news and talk shows are just depressing. So no more television for me these days.
