In my mind
I reach out to you
Just to touch you
Perhaps for the first time
Or maybe it will the last time
I want to borrow from your innocence
I want to shed the garb of worldly wisdom
And……
Just once again be that carefree child that I was

You will no longer be alone

I remember one time (possibly in 7th grade) – that all of my homework and chores were done!
I walked down the stairs… (the only one home at the time) feeling weightless.
Oh to be innocent and just enjoy life 😀

I don’t remember any specific occasion like this but I’ve experienced this feeling many times in life. Shedding a load.
