Mathematical Space- Space or mathematics or both?

Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about Math or Science, or you can go with whatever else that you think fits.

Mathematics was my favorite subject in school and hence algebra and physics were too. Anything that needed to be calculated or proved was my game.

Though geometry was a part of mathematics, I wasn’t that keen on it. It required precision in measuring physical spaces like angles or lines and I could sometimes be clumsy regarding measurements.

Studying physics was a whole new experience. When we studied the structure of atoms, I realized that it’s quite similar to that of our solar system. The orbiting electrons could be planets while the nucleus could be the star. There is a recurring motif in nature that belies the theory of everything coming into existence, accidentally.

It is my opinion that when we study any branch of science, we come to the realization of how intricate, organized, and complex it all is. It is something created by design and did not come into existence by any unplanned process.

  1. Stephen Hawking’s 2010 book, “The Grand Design,” implies that the universe arose from an intelligence. It questions if our universe shows evidence of a benevolent creator who set things in motion, or if science offers another explanation. I have not read it, but someday I might.

  2. I did well in math, but I skipped physics in high school. I was like you and a little inaccurate in my physical measurements due to bad eyes and stubbornness about wearing glasses. I did well at proving things mathematically – maybe not so much in real life. 🙂
