Our gracious host, Di has posed these questions for SYW this week;

Here are the questions for this week:
Do you feel comfortable walking in your neighbourhood at night?
If I am with someone then it’s okay. But not on my own. Though I’ve seen ladies walking by themselves on the road at night as well. If I feel the urge to walk outside at night, I walk in the side alley in our house.
When you shop for day to day things, do you pay by cash or card?
I prefer not to carry cash so Il’ d rather pay with my debit card. The problem with cash is the change which just sits around in the bag, never getting used. I also don’t like to count out the money in front of so many people.
When was the last time you dressed up for a special occasion?
Yesterday, I went to visit my elderly aunt with my husband. Before the visit, we stopped at a restaurant and had lunch. So I put on my nice clothes. The reasons /occasions to dress up nowadays are few so I take the opportunity/ pretext whenever I can to dress up.
Have you ever lied about your age?
No, never. In fact, I offer the information about my age to others even when they don’t ask or are particularly interested. 😂
Gratitude:
Making someone happy reaps its own rewards.
I fully agree with this statement of Di’s. Seeing people happy gives a feeling of joy.
Meanwhile, my garden is blooming and it a joy to go outside and enjoy it.

Thank you Di, for these easy to answer questions. Your effort at choosing questions every week is very much appreciated my friend.

Oh, wow! Your garden looks lovely! 😍
I too look for an opportunity to dress up these days. And there’s no need to lie about age. 😀

Thanks my dear friend. Yes dressing up makes us more buoyant and cheerful. Yes, lying about age is futile. ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Brenda, we did and were wondering why we don’t do bit more often. It’s good to do some out of the routine.

Is it still snowing there?

The snow is all gone as of last week. Still colder weather, but with lovely long sunny days, no one minds the cold. Thanks for asking.

I use cash for small purchases, say under $20. The loose change goes into my pocket and when home, into a money box. Yesterday I took the money box contents to the bank and deposited $450.00 into my account. I often use that money for Christmas presents but last year had enough money. So that is the total since December 2021.

I loved your responses. I dress up to make ‘the day’ feel special 😂 👏
As for walking outside alone *knock on wood* I do as do everyone in Japan. I hope that never changes. 🙏
Your garden: beautiful. I have to ask. Is that a Flamboyant Tree? I think it is. It’s my fave tree from my childhood. Does it have long black pods? I bet it does. Only thing I notice is that yours reaches heaven when the branches are still thin. Too much sun too soon, methinks. The Flamboyant Tree was my favorite tree to climb. I doubt I could climb yours. (Not then, and definitely not now) Thanks so much for sharing your world. Xoxo

Thanks Selma. Yes it goes by that name too. We call it gulmohar in our language. It’s botanical name is Royal poinciana! The branches are not for climbing in this part of the world.
