Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;
Do you like to relax at home on the weekends or go out?
Now that ( hopefully) we are over the worst of the Covid pandemic, people have started to go out, especially on the weekends and holidays for a meal, a movie, or just for fun with family or friends.
I was having a conversation with Elizabeth In comments the other day and we both agreed that the three years we have spent in enforced isolation has left a mark on our desire to socialize. I too am reluctant to go out every weekend and would rather prefer to order food for eating at home.
The zest and zeal to be out and about has dimmed considerably. Another factor may be inflation which has almost doubled the cost of having a meal in a restaurant. And even if we could afford it, living in a country where the majority of the people are struggling, doesn’t seem right.
What is your usual routine for the weekends?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section or you can write your own post and link it to this one so that I can find it.
As usual, thanks of visiting and reading.

I mostly prefer staying home and relaxing, unless my destination is outside in nature and I can have limited contact with people. I was an introvert long before COVID. I love sitting in the woods or on the beach.

Thanks for sharing Melissa. I agree that sitting in the nature and enjoying solitude is a great way to unwind

I get that. With family it’s more fun.

Obviously, staying at home is my go to. Even prior to Covid eating out was not my preferred outing.

I used to HAVE to be out and doing something on the weekends, but I think I’ve gotten so used to being home, and relaxing with my kids on the weekends, that I enjoy doing that now – rather than going out or finding something for us to do every weekend. I used to feel like we HAD to be out, and that the kids NEEDED to be entertained, but I have learned that even us doing puzzles at home, cooking and baking together, playing video games or just sitting out on our patio – has become something we enjoy, so I totally like staying in most weekends and enjoying finding new things to do. Here and there, we will venture out though. Love the post! 🙂

Thanks for sharing! Yes, we all have gotten used to different life style during Covid and it really has changed how we live and entertain ourselves too.

I usually use one day to just hang out and relax and the other to do errands and go out

That I think is the best use of the weekend. Thanks for sharing

Having recently had Covid, my weekends were spent indoors rather than outdoors. Thankfully now I am negative. So I take pleasure in just going to the shops and walking around.

I’m glad you’re feeling better now Diana. I too like to do that and try not to but stuff I don’t need. Thanks for sharing ❤️

We are usually flooded with games and having fun with the kiddos and then relax.

Unless I have family commitments I like to be here alone, dressed in my scruffy old loungewear – just like now!

Being retired, we spend a good deal of time at home, which we both enjoy. We do like to dine out and usually do so on weekdays when restaurants are less busy.

Good idea to go out on weekdays. My husband still works so we do go out on weekends, but very infrequently. Mostly we order in.

Relaxing at home is my go-to time of respite from the week’s busyness. Finding adventure is when I go out. Depends on my mood! 😜

I guess that home is where the heart is. If you can’t relax there, where can you relax, unless chaos and confusion is swarming around your household! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Sadje! 🤗💖😘 Cheers! 🥂

Staying home for me, all the time. I did go once awhile back to a restaurant with family. It was very nice, but we usually just get take out food to eat at home. 🙂

Thanks for sharing Barbra. I too go very infrequently out to eat. It’s easier to get something order in

Same here my friend. The desire to be out and about has lessened quite significantly

I’m not eating out either, only when travelling and there isn’t other option. Being close to people in a close space still scares me. Weekends go by fast, it’s the time I have to work on my journals and some painting in between grocery shopping, cleaning the house and cooking. Blogging too, it is in the weekends I have time to catch up your the reading and writing.

Thanks for sharing Elizabeth. Yes most people have chosen to stay away from the busy places. And yes, there’s plenty to do on the weekends.

After having Covid change my outlook on “out there,” I prefer being home more. But I’ve enjoyed getting out to my part-time job – delivering packages for Amazon. It’s roughly ten hours a week, but I do not socialize since I rarely interact with customers. It’s nice to see the sun and the greenery around me. In that way, it gives me a bit of a lift I don’t get being at home. We definitely get out more than before to eat, but not as much as before Covid.

Love the description of your part time job Susi. Yes it’s good to be out of the house for a while every day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend

I have to say I prefer staying in, too, if I have the choice. Whether its a remnant of lockdown or getting older, abd being happier in my company, I don’t know. Or even a combination of both.
However, I know my son, at nearly 18, wants to go out, be it to play cricket, or meet with friends.

It’s probably a combination of all the factors. Thanks for sharing Ritu.

I’ve always preferred staying at home but I have to admit that due to the lockdown, it made me anxious being around people. I’m an introvert but was not that anxious around crowds. Going out with friends and my younger brother from time to time does help

Very true the threat we feel from big crowds is very real.

Weekends are my recharge days. I need to have the time at home to catch up on things here, and also to recharge myself after a week of work and ‘peopling’. Unfortunately, its also the only time I have to catch up with friends and family. So I try to not schedule something for every day so that I can still get the time I need to take care of myself. 💞💞💞

I really did not like lockdown personally. So I am for people trying to go back to normal. So curious to read all the other comments on this question.

It was very difficult in the beginning but gradually people got used to it.

Being on my own a lot I prefer to stay in, maybe have a meal delivered occasionally. But if others are around I do enjoy going out – no cooking, no clean up. Spending time with my boyfriend and I in the same state has created opportunity for a few nights out, which I have enjoyed.

Thanks for sharing. One doesn’t like going out by oneself, unless you’re already out and about. I’m glad you get to enjoy meals with your boyfriend
