Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?
Anyone who has read my posts knows that I have my own, original writing style. I do sometimes try new things but that’s to follow some poetry prompts. Writing to please my readers is not my style at all.
Do you recover well from setbacks to your plans?
After a fit of initial disappointment, I try to find the silver lining in that particular cloud. If we calculate the ratio of things going wrong vs things going right when making/ following a plan, the balance is usually in favor of things going askew! So it’s better to be prepared for things going south.
How did you meet your other half?
Our marriage was arranged by my father and the parents of my husband. The first time I met him was when he came with his parents to our home for tea. If you ever have seen a Pakistani drama or an Indian movie, that’s a typical scenario, where the girl ( me) offers the boy ( my husband) a cup of tea. We just exchanged greetings on that occasion and no direct conversation happened between us. It will be 38 years this July and I think it is the best match that both of us have found.
What was your very first paid job/employment?
I’ve never been paid in the traditional sense for the jobs I do. I am a homemaker, a mom, and a grandmother! All with the benefits of love and respect but no money!
What Do You Prefer: Fruits or Vegetables?
I like both, but since my surgery, I’m not allowed uncooked fruits or vegetables. I can have both if cooked to a mushy consistency. That really takes out the fun out of having fruits or vegetables. After another month, I’ll be allowed to eat raw vegetables, as in salad and fruits.
How open to new experiences and adventures are you?
To be honest, not much. I like my comfortable rut. I like to do things as I’ve always done them. Even trying new restaurants is not my thing.
But I do new things as a challenge to myself. Writing new poetic forms is one way I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.
Are you afraid or confident to speak your mind?
I am quite vocal about my opinions. Perhaps I should tone myself down but it’s part of who I am.
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
No, it doesn’t. In fact, it rejuvenates me. If I’m too occupied mentally and not able to write my best, I defer it till I’m able to give it my full attention.
What do you think the best pizza topping is?
Tomato base, herbs, chicken tika, or fajita covered with a generous layer of cheese.

I think we are made this way. I’ve seen people older than me who are keen to try new adventures.

It was the norm here 40 years ago. Now things are changing. Though not that much.

Interesting answers Sadje and a tasty pizza topping too. You must be looking forwards to restabilising your diet again with solids 🙂

Thanks Rory. I think now I’ll have to go with the eating pattern I currently have. It’ll take more time for my stomach to expand a bit and for me too eat something like normal people do.

It must be age-related. No one is thrilled about new experiences or adventure. There was a time when that wasn’t true, but now? I’ve had a lot of adventures and more new experiences that I wanted. Now, I just would like to relax.

It’s both I think. Some people are willing to try new things even at older age while some like me would want to be just comfortable.

It probably depends on what you did — or didn’t — do when you were younger. I was very adventurous. Now, I’m older and I’m tired. Adventure is for the young and hardy, neither of which I am.

That’s true. I wasn’t keen on adventuring even when younger.

Somewhere in my mid forties, my enthusiasm for adventure started to wane and as I rounded the corner into 70, disappeared.
