The world recently celebrated international day of happiness on 20th March.

We seek happiness and expect to find it

In people, events and achievements of ours

“This will make me happy or that will make me happy”, we say

But that sort of happiness is so transient, fleeting

It brings a temporary joy that evaporates like mist under the sun

Lasting feeling of joy come from contentment within ourselves

When our conscience is satisfied and we have achieved inner peace

Then every moment brings us joy for our souls are enriched

With the knowledge that we are doing the best we can

Regarding ourselves, and those around us, to the best of our abilities

That we are being mindful of everything around us

And we are giving back at least as much as we are receiving

True happiness comes from a heart that’s at peace with itself

Lasting joy is only possible if we are happy with whom we are

  9. I so agree with the video. Like, I can sit and relax and be in the moment, but there’s something a little bit more fulfilling about helping others. Mostly when you’re not expecting anything back though. Then again, I don’t think you can be happy if you’re expecting something back.

  12. Beautiful Sadje. And I do agree with you. To achieve long term happiness is something internal, linked to a sense of well-being. Only then can we really appreciate and take happiness from things around us

  17. My Impromptu Happyness Ode To My Granddaughter

    Here she comes again, the
    Apple of our eye,
    Practically filling the entire room with
    Perpetual joy and delight.
    Yes, even when we’re feeling low, it
    Never fails that her glowing green
    Eyes and bright beautiful
    Smile make us forget every bad thing for
    She is Colette, the bringer of pure unconditional love.
