Love

For Today’s Poetics, I want you to write a love poem.Bear in mind that it doesn’t necessarily need to be romantic. It can also be dark and speak of ache and loss. It can transcend words and language. It can describe what the heart has been carrying within for a long time. The possibilities are endless.

❤️❤️❤️

I am not very good at writing love poems

Penning odes to my sweethearts is something rare

Though saying simply the I love them all from the bottom of my heart

Comes naturally and easily to the tip of my tongue

My husband, my children and grandchildren all are my loved ones

Their mere presence in my life makes it richer, more rewarding

Seeing their smiling faces brings a joy deep in my soul

My love for them bubbles out in my happy smile and tears

May you all live long, happy and peaceful lives

  1. Just find someone give everything that you have expect nothing and then give some more. Try to listen being quiet and not being startled by what you might hear back. If you can do this and give her that which you see is independence, perhaps marriage will work, but not usually. Happy Valentine’s Day

  2. This is beyond beautiful, Sadje! Love doesn’t need words to express itself and that is evident in this gem of a poem. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt ❤️❤️❤️❤️
