The latest batch of Q & A from Rory

What are you currently watching or reading?
Not watching anything in particular, whatever my husband watches, other than the news. I’ve started reading Louise Penny’s new book, ‘A world of curiosities’, and I plan to finally read ‘A hitchhikers guide to the galaxy ’ too.
What is the weirdest food combination you enjoy?
Right now my food is weird because I eat in bites max is 2 tablespoons of anything. So if I want a variety of food I wait for 30 minutes to an hour before having the next part of my meal. I’m having a lot of yogurt with every meal, that maybe called weird!
How long would it take to notice subtle differences in your neighbourhood, signalling something terribly wrong? [What would those differences be to make you feel worried?]
Now, this is a very interesting question. Our neighborhood consists of houses on one side of the road while there are empty plots on the other side. And it’s a relatively quiet neighborhood. So perhaps if all the birds stop twittering, or start squawking loudly, I’ll take note that something is up. A sudden weather phenomenon will also raise some red flags.
What do you think of garden gnomes?
I like them but sadly people seldom have them here. I’ve seen stone birds, animals and fake flowers/ butterflies in gardens but no gnomes. Though I liked all the gnome movies.

Wow! 2 tablespoons! I don’t know how you do that. But kudos for being well disciplined, Sadje.

I can’t eat more than this. If I do I pay the price.

It takes a long time to note subtle changes. You’re right. I had not thought about this. I tend to think I am obsevant… but not so much when the changes are subtle. Great answers.

I have never watched a gnome movie, but I do like the titles Gnome Alone, Sherlock Gnomes and Gnomeo and Juliett.

I have watched them with my grandson. All of them.

Let me know how you like “Hitchhikers.” You have to have a weird sense of humor. Garry didn’t get it, but I loved it and many other of Douglas Adams’ books. He is also my “time twin,” the only “famous” person born on my birthday.

I will start it and let you know. I think it was you who talked about it on your blog that made me buy it. 😎

Douglas Adams was completely mad and wildly funny.

Also, see if you can get hold of Douglas Adams’ “The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul.” It is my favorite of his books. I have read it and listened to it so many times I can recite entire sections by heart.

Interesting answers Sadje. I remember reading HGTTG years ago – a great hike into comical foolery but well worth it! May the 42 be with you!
I hadn’t realised there were any gnome movies – we live and learn.
Yes l think those everyday noises are the first signs that something is wrong, it’s a curio to ask and see what people do notice.
Thanks for taking part Sadje 🙂

Thanks Rory. It’s indeed interesting to see what people would notice.

Yes, l started watching the series The Last of Us and in the first episode there are traces to this girl who senses something is wrong but can’t put her finger on it.
It reminded me of a time several years ago, many actually when l lived in Malaysia and and there was a riot kicking off further up the street and walking down towards the officer’s quarter. The world went very quiet. I noticed it very quickly, many others didn’t until it was almost too late.
