January 9, 2023, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story that includes rabbits. Is it a family? A strange planet? Some crazy bunny personβs pets? Who are they and what are they doing? Go where the prompt leads!

Alice in wonderland was perhaps one of the first classic books that I read. I think I was in grade 6. This book belonged to my late mother. John Tenniel wood-engraved 42 illustrations for the book.
The rabbit with his pocket watch and waistcoat was one of the first sketches that captured my imagination.

This Victorian-era book made me fall in love with classic literature and my love of reading deepened. We always had lots of books in our library and many classics resided there. Iβm glad that my passion for reading was passed on to my daughters, and grandchildren.

Alice in Wonderland is the perfect start to a love for reading, I agree, my friend. And the illustrations fueled the imagination.

Very true Suzette. It was. Then I read, through the looking glass too. And I was fully hooked on reading.

Same here. It was, too me a grown up book at that time and I found it fascinating that it was made up of so much frivolous and nonsense anecdotes.

Mostly, poems. I used to know several of them by heart. These days, I remember chunks, but not the whole thing.

Oh yes, very true. Even when we are putting away something important and tell ourselves that we will remember this place, we forget the next day.

One of my favorites too. I also like Baum (Oz books) and Pinocchio – the books not the films.

The movies sort of spoil the story.

Screen writers have a tough time having to keep the story in a shorter time frame and or having to add and subtract things the reader might miss…

Very true. But some writers just change the story so much that itβs not the same anymore
