I am writing to express my opinion, share my experiences and to maybe provide some insight. My blog is addressing women at 50 ( but men are welcome to read my posts) ,their issues and the questions that come up at this stage in life. I don’t aim to teach, but to learn together.

A bit of sweet is balance not cheating. It’s the yin yang of life (my opinion). Those things one is told not to eat become what one craves sometimes. And cravings is a whole other kind of bondage (my opinion!)
All diets should be flexible enough to allow a treat or too.
Like you have told me in the past, a tiny portion of dessert is around a 100 calories. It can satisfy your cravings without blowing your diet.
My husband and I have both been told we shouldn’t indulge much, but where’s the fun in that?!? I agree that moderation satisfies that tug for something sweet, and is meant to be enjoyed!
I totally understand. I’m supposed to be on a diabetic diet because I have PCOS but I can’t live without sugar. I hope I can make the switch to dark chocolate and do without sugar one day, though.
absolutely !

What is life without a bit of sweetness?
We can replace the chocolate with the sweet smile of a loved one.

It is very hard to do not having anything sweet at all. I try, but sometimes I just have to have something, like chocolate! 🙂

Thanks Kriti. I’m getting the hang of this thing. Eat little, eat frequently. Avoid fats, carbs and sodas.

I hope you can. White sugar is a totally useless additive to food. Honey or unprocessed brown sugar is better.

Oh yes, I will try to replace it with honey. Thank you for the tip.

I have found if I completely cut out chocolate I over indulge greatly when I do get it…. better a little occasionally that a big purge eventually.

This is so true. A bit of it occasionally is better than binging
