Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;
What are your goals for 2023?
I feel new year resolutions are passé now. We need to set goals that are achievable in long term.
Health goals;
Since my stomach surgery, my goal and aim for this year are to lose weight healthily, modify my eating habits to suit my new stomach size, and get into the habit of exercising regularly, in addition to my walk.
Writing goals;
I plan to work on my poetry compilation this year. I want to publish a selection of my poems from my blog, and perhaps add a few new ones and publish them on KDP. I’ve been offered help by Paula and a few other blogging friends.
What goals do you plan to pursue this year? Or are you going to follow your heart and do what suits you at the moment?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section or you can write your own post and link it to this one so that I can find it.
As usual, thanks of visiting and reading.

Yes resolution are passé. I gave up on resolution when I was 16.
But goals are essential.
As for me I havent figured them out.
But I am using Jan to work on my spirituality, meditation and I want to finish a course I brought.
As for the rest of the year I want to figure it out.
Your poetry book sounds fun. All the best with that goal. I too want to exercise more, get back into that. I have been intermittent fasting for a few months and that helps.
All the best with your goals

My goal this year is to eat better to avoid being put on medication per my doctor just Friday. After finishing my novel edits submit to agents for representation. Write something every day, whether I post it on my blog or not. Enter a writing contest every month and start freelance writing.

Thanks for mentioning me ~ I’d be happy to help! It’s a really good feeling to see your work put together in one place (with a nice cover, of course!). I don’t know why people are so opposed to the word “resolution,” but OK, I’ll play along. My goals for 2023 are simply a continuation and amplification of previous ones: don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good, be kind to myself, and say no to more things. My word of the year will be NO!

Thanks Paula for sharing your thoughts. No is a wonderful word, a complete sentence. I wish you success in all your goals/ resolutions. Thanks again

I like your goals. One of mine is to edit my manuscript I wrote for NaNoWriMo. Also, today my husband joined the YMCA where I swim. We plan on going together in the afternoons to take classes or work out on the fitness equipment.

Thanks EA! Yes physical fitness is important specially as we grow older. I hope you get your book published this year. Thanks for sharing

I’ve been so “resolute” to hold to a particular plan these last five years, so maybe following my creativity will be my guide this year. The Short of It goals will remain the same, though – publish Volume 2, and start accepting new submissions later in the year for the 2024 features.

Awesome goals, Sadje. I cannot wrap my head around any plans as yet. Grief keeps washing over me, but I am finding my way, slowly. I am hopeful that my second novel, Johanna’s Legacy gets picked up by one of the publishers I sent it to back in July. I started a third novel several months ago but my creativity has been nil. I am hoping I will soon be able to get back to it. Happy New Year, my friend, and may you meet each and every goal you’ve set with aplomb and enthusiasm.

It is understandable Carol that you are experiencing this issue at this time. Coming to grips with loss takes a lot of time and courage. I do hope that your second book gets published this year. All the best my dear.

Happy new year, Sadje! All the best with the poetry compilation; it sounds exciting! And I wasn’t aware of your stomach surgery. I hope you feel much better now. My goal for this year is to just accept what life has in store for me and have a positive outlook on everything.

Keeping healthy and eating such are very good goals.
I didn’t make any resolutions… but I am going to work at more sorting. I may never be a minimalist. But I will try and repurpose or gift away useful things.
Each day a new adventure to observe, take part in and enjoy. Cheers to you my friend 🎉

…going through a draw looking for a store card we rarely use… we found about a dozen outdated cards. Hubby took them to a place with an industrial plastic shredder!!! Maybe they didn’t take up that much space – but at least they are gone!! Slow progress is good progress. 🙂

Love your goals, Sadje, and I look forward to watching them manifest. This is a big professional year for me, as I am taking on new responsibilities at work.
Personally, and paradoxically, I still hope to get to travel this year too. We shall see! 😄😅

To treat myself better – eat better, exercise more, try really hard to stay on time with all my meds, take better care of my teeth…. I have already joined a gym and have added a lot more salads to my diet. I hope you meet all your goals this year!
