December poetry challenge- Dodoitsu!

This month we’ll try a Japanese poetry form; dodoitsu. It is non-rhyming, with a humorous twist.Dodoitsu has four lines: 7 syllables, 7 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. Please write about harvest or nature.

Waiting for the cold season

Woolen woolies all ready

Stash of crunchy nuts ready

The temp is still warm 😜

  1. ooh, I like it. I might just hop in one day this month and write a Dodoitsu– a new form for me. Thanks for drawing my attention to it. Right now, I’m head over heels with tanka and practicing on my own often. Thanks, Sadje. xoxo
