He found himself in a dark room
The only source of light, a flashing sign
You have been warned, it stated threateningly
A warning, he trembled at the ominous warning
He failed in his mission, he realized with dread
The responsibilities entrusted to him remain unfulfilled
Their home, the earth was still in a battle of division
The environment polluted, temperatures raising
He fell to his knees, asked for another chance
At that moment he woke up soaked in sweat
Today he will start working on his election promises
Today he will start to heed the warning

Even if one wants to do good for your country there are others trying to oppose and pulling him down. They will oppose everything even if it in the interest of the country .

I love the surprise ending. I had pictured someone from outer space who had been charged with fixing the planet and had failed. Great poem.

I think it’s the duty of people living on this planet to fix it because after all we are the ones trying to ruin its environment. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Love your response Sadje.
How I wish all politicians and government officials had such dreams.

It is often difficult to be diligent when there are so many products that are allowed to be produced that discourage recycling or second use… like those individual coffee/tea pods.
At least some company came up with refillable pods. But some people just don’t want to bother…
I do like the park benches that are made out of recycled tires or plastic bottles 😀

Yes I loved the coffee pods but the idea of so much going to waste puts me off too. I like recycling the product too.

Used coffee grounds can be good for some plants… but not too much. I actually read about a gal who had her family help her save onion skins (maybe other veg too) and dyed a white sweater from a thrift store to a nice pale yellow. 🙂

Very innovative idea

I think I was at one of the old type museums that mentioned that there were many natural plant dyes. Onion skins and of course many berries too.

The vegetable dyes.

Over here we have certain folk institutes where they use only vegetable dyes.

Natural is best… but sometimes science can help. 🙂

Yes, for anything bearing the label, natural or organic goes up in price
