Abandoned/ historical buildings- Lahore Fort

I would like to introduce you all to such a historic landmark building of my home city, The Lahore fort. This holds that special charm, that beauty, and magic about it! It is not an abandoned building persé but a historical landmark, which indeed is a work of art!

The main entrance of Lahore fort( Shahi Mahal)

This magnificent fort was built in 1556 by the Mughal emperor Akbar. It is a wonderful example of Mughal architecture and there are beautiful examples of both Muslim and Hindu styles of motifs.

Bara Dari-( 12 doors) an open courtyard where the Mughal emperor used to meet people.

Even though this is not very well maintained, it has stood the test of time quite well. It boasts of beautiful and well-laid gardens and multiple decorative halls.

Anyone who visits Lahore has to visit this historical treasure

  9. Beautiful buildings. I like the shape and the arches with the scalloped type edges. The wall you’ve shown is really pretty with so much detail and artwork. 🙂
    I like that there are places where treasures like these are kept and hopefully maintained, instead of tearing them down in favor of brand new.

  12. Thank you for the tour!! It’s glad to know that you’re from lahore. Being from india I’ve herd a lot about the streets of lahore and I really do want to visit that city in future for sure😌

  13. Thanks for the tour. Wonderful looking place. Unfortunately, I don’t know very much about some the grand places in your corner of out tiny planet. Maybe you could compile do a post or two on areas or architecture that you think is really interesting to learn about and see. Cheers
