Welcome back to another Sunday Poser

This week my question is;
This week my Question is regarding your reading habits;
Do you like to reread old favorite’s again?
I am very fond of some of the authors I grew up with. So yes I like to read my favorite books again and again. I put a gap of a few years in between rereading the same books, but you are likely find me rereading Agatha Christie, Georgette Heyer, Conan Doyle, Tolkien, P G Woodhouse, and even Barbra Cartland!
There is a charm to revisiting old books as they remind us of our younger days. Just like watching old movies.
Do you have favorite authors that you like to read again and again, or perhaps movies that you like to watch repeatedly?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section or you can write your own post and link it to this one so that I can find it.
As usual, thanks of visiting and reading.

Theoretically yes, but practically no. There are just too many books I want to read and haven’t yet…

I’m with Paula .. there are so many new books to read that I’ve not reread anything since I was a student … im going on the assumption that textbooks for work don’t count

Text books are books but I wasn’t asking about them 😉😂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I tend to focus more on books I have not yet read. But I do enjoy watching movies again. A favorite holiday classic is “Christmas in Connecticut”.

Absolutely. Especially those authors who have ben publishing for years. As a mature woman, I go back and read their earlier works. It’s a different read as an older woman. Favorites are Mary Higgins Clark, Faye Kellerman and Jonathan Kellerman. Also the classics from Mark Twain.

Personally, I do not read books twice or more, because there are too many books to read; I am ready to move on to the next! Professionally, I have done this more times than I care to remember, teaching the same books year after year. A few include: The Great Gatsby, Brave New World, Shakespeare plays, Siddhartha, and others. 📚

I have not re-read old favorites in a long time as there are so many book choices!
Yes, old favorites by P.G. Woodhouse, Mills & Boon, and Barbara Cartland remind me of my youth.
I have read P.G Woodhouse books and “When Bad Things Happen to Good People” by Harold Kushner many times.
Happy reading, Sadje.

Thanks Chaya for sharing. PG Woodhouse is always an hilarious read. We do have limited time so reading new books makes more sense

Absolutely. I reread Nora Roberts often, and I love occasionally dipping back into childhood books. I usually do a reread of “The Chronicles of Narnia” in December.

I am such a slower reader, and my Tbr is quiet large so… Having said that I will read, listen to chapters again. I tend to read non fiction

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. A large TBR list doors makes us read new books first.

I don’t reread books. There are too many I haven’t read that I want to that going back to one I’ve already read seems like a waste of time.

Absolutely! Good stories deserve to be revisited on occasion. There are multiple titles that I have read at least twice and a handful that I have read three times. The Hobbit and Shogun, however, are the only two that I can think of with at least 4 readings each.

Thanks Frank for sharing your thoughts. I agree a good book should be read more than once.

I love to reread old favorites…meanwhile my TBR pile is out of control, lol. My “comfort food” in book form is the In Death series by JD Robb. I have lost count of how many times I’ve reread that
series 💞💞💞

Oh I used to love that series. Recently these books aren’t available here so I’m behind like 3-4 years.

Oh no, I’m sorry! I hope you are able to get them again soon!

I can, on kindle but they are pricey! Looking for used ones.

Yes, I love to re-read favorite books over again, many times. Probably I’ll do this once a year. Sometimes I’m just in a mood for what you might say is a comfort read. Sort of like comfort food, it’s always easy and nice to read those familiar characters again. 🙂

Very well said; comfort read. I get your point. Thanks for sharing Barbra

All my favs. I wasn’t much into Cartland for I loved Georgette Heyer. She had a marvelous sense of humor
