Sharing my World- October 7, 2022

Di is our gracious host for SYW now.

As always, there will be an optional gratitude section at the end.

Questions;

1. Do you consider friends an extension of your family?

Only my good friends, not all. Some friends are so genuine and sincere that they are family. I turn to them in need and they never disappoint me. As I was the only girl in my family, my friends have a special significance for me as they are my sisters too.

2. Would you confide in a friend more than you would a family member?

Some things cannot be shared with family so I share them with my friends. These include complaints against my family 😂😂😂

Or some issues which may upset or worry my family so I discuss them with my friends as they aren’t that close to the problem.

3. How long have you known your best friend?

There is one friend that I’ve known since grade 6. So it would make it almost 48 years. She is such a sweet and sincere friend. There are others who were my roommates in med school and they are like sisters too.

4. Do you believe distance has a negative effect on friendships?

Not really! Having a friend live close by is of course better but the distance doesn’t count if hearts are connected. I have friends living in UK, Norway, Karachi, and Islamabad. But I’m close to them all. However, my friends that live in Lahore, where I live are always available to meet and get together.

Gratitude;

I have been very fortunate to have good friends. Starting from school life, to college, and then married life, I’ve managed to make good friends. They are caring and concerned people with hearts of gold.

Me, just before the surgery! Let’s see how much difference it will make to my appearance and weight/ health.

Thanks you Di for continuing this prompt in the memory of our dear friend Melanie.

  1. Friends are often much closer than family as you can confide in them about things family might not understand or want to hear. Distance doesn’t have to hinder a friendship. I have some of my best friends out of state, we talk all the time and communicate a lot more often then some of my friends here.
