QUESTIONS -THINGS THAT GO ‘BUMP’ IN THE NIGHT
Favourite horror or Halloween-themed song? Or a song you rarely hear except around a holiday.
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Bones by Imagine Dragons
Do you ever see figures in your peripheral vision?👻
Yes, I do. It’s also called seeing floaters. A problem with my vision makes me see dark shadows, especially at night. They could be scary beings but I ignore them because I’m used to them.
Which urban legend scares you the most? (most countries have such stories – share yours if you would like to) 🦇
I’m not a fan of urban legends or scary stories. Even if we share our world with other creatures that we cannot see, why presume that they are out there to get us! Live and let live should be our motto.
You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?
I often do, but they are from adjoining houses. Sometimes it’s the wind, slamming doors, or shaking the glass in the windows. But sometimes I do get up and check my front door, just to make sure it’s locked.
GRATITUDE SECTION
What is your favourite season?
The truth is I love cooler weather and winter season better than hot weather and summer.
But I also love change. When one season ends and another starts I get a feeling of elation and renewal.
I’m sharing drawings from my new grandson by marriage, who is 7 years old. He was keen for me to share his drawings on my blog like his step brother ( my older grandson)

Thank you Melanie for these fun/ scary questions.

I haven’t heard any footsteps other than mine and the cats. Not sure what I would do if I did. Check it out I guess so my imagination wouldn’t go crazy.

Checking out is better than to let the imagination go wild.

Your grandsons drawings are beautiful; and, I’m not a fan of scary either, though, like you too, I do enjoy the weather at this time of year. Oh, and Thriller is an awesome song. 😁🎼

I love the idea that even if there are beings that can’t be seen, why assume they’re out to get us? There’s a movie called Corpse Bride, and it has ghosts in it that come up from the dead. One of them goes straight away to see his wife, who is scared, frightened, beating him away….
Then she realises he’s her husband that she misses and loves so dearly…
Why assume ghosts are vengeful or angry? They may love us and be trying to help.
Also loved the drawings by your new grandson 🙂

Thank you so much, it’ll make him happy. Yes this image media has created of hostile , invisible beings trying to kill us of take revenge is just an invention to make money.

Many cultures for thousands of years have had scary ghosts, though, I know Chinese culture has scary and bad tempered ghosts but you can scare them away pretty easily… and I used to be friends with a Hindu lady who believed in spirits… and even in Christian fables there are many stories of Angels and Devils from aeons ago…

Yes, and that’s why they are myths. Human mind is influenced by the beliefs it holds. Whatever we believe, comes true for us.

What lovely pictures, it’s hard to believe he’s so young! As for the seasons, it’s the heat of summer for me! The footsteps I hear a lot are thanks to seagulls trotting around on my roof!

Thanks Keith from the young man. Seagulls are quite the noisy lot.

I have a love-hate relationship with cooler weather just because if it rains too much it tends to flood around here. But cooler weather means better sleep too.
Beautiful drawings!

Omg that’s spooky that you see shadows. Sometimes, when I close my eyes, I can see shadows from behind my eyelids, but when I open them, they’re gone. Does that make sense? I prefer not to think of the creatures we can’t see (you know who I mean).

Oh I know what you mean. You must watch Ms Marvel where they explore this phenomenon.
