For visually challenged writers, the image shows a stone tower with an arched centre. Beyond the tower is a line of houses.
➰➰➰
This tower has stood here a long time
The ravages of weather and history haven’t
Shaken it’s foundation or cracked it’s walls
Built by craftsmen of centuries ago it is a symbol of strength and power
Looking at it you can well imagine yourself to be
In times of long ago when life was completely different
Until you look at the structures around it and realize
That a slice of history is preserved for your education

No matter how far time has brought things forward, monuments remind one of humanity’s connectedness.

I wonder how many people were beheaded or hanged in that tower.

I think it’s like a watch tower, not like London tower.

When doing a few road trips… I’ve seen some stone and concrete bridges that have unique heritage. I only wish I was able to take images and learn more about them.

Sometimes we can catch a ‘Build’ date. But not often. I like the art deco bridge decorations. (Done in concrete – so I think).

Sometimes, someone thoughtfully has done that for us. Or a local guide can be hired to explain the history

Like the site I’ve gone to finding out about our local covered (Amish) bridges.
The net is a font of info!! 😀
