Bright side of life

Sofia tossed her designer sunshades aside and took a twirl in the open green field. Her husband was surprised to see her behave in such a carefree manner.

What’s up sweetheart?” he asked

Oh I’m loving this openness, this greenery and the clean air. Thank you for bringing me to this serene place John!”

That’s great Sofia, I knew a break from the city life will do both of us good. Let’s make it a routine to spend our weekends away from the phone, in a secluded place”

Both of them sauntered off, leaving the pair of sunglasses sitting in the stump of a tree trunk.

  1. Wonderful post, Sadje! We need regular breaks from our smartphones.

This line is the perfect ending —

“Both of them sauntered off, leaving the pair of sunglasses sitting in the stump of a tree trunk.”

    😃👏👏

  2. when I was younger – our family did just that – mostly during the summer though (maybe for only one summer…) The folks had rented a camping spot and we left things up and went on the weekends. I think that is where I developed my dislike for camping… 😉 Just too rough for me.
Though I did like the woods and nature. I didn’t like sleeping on the ground even in a tent. Or having meals by campfire.

Looking forward to a change of four walls – maybe next month. Still no date or destination in mind. 😀
