I could hear my 3 year old granddaughter crying, not really crying but the make-believe one, interspersed with little giggles.
“What happened sweetheart?” I asked concerned and I could see her holding a box of band-aids in her hand and sticking them on her arms and legs.
“Oh nano, I have an ouchie!”
“But you’ve put on so many bandages my sweetie”, I said taking the box from her tiny hand.
“Because they look so pretty, with cartoons on them”, she replied with her naughty laughter echoing in the room.
She has a habit of finding imaginary ouchies and then treating them with the band-aids her mom buys, and I’ve often had to hide them because when there is a real ouchie, we are usually out of them!
