It’s a sin!

It’s a sin to waste food and water” my grandmother’s words echo in my head when I see people piling their plates high with food at weddings and then leaving most of it uneaten.

I remember her words when I see people washing their cars with fresh clean water and not even turning off the water hose when they are done.

It’s a sin to be aware of the fact that in your neighborhood, there are people who go hungry to bed and not do anything about it.

And it’s a big sin on all our part to let the resources of our planet be misused by a select few while others are left bereft and wanting.

Does your heart not bleeds for this injustice that you see everywhere?

Does your conscience lets you sleep at night?

  1. It rips me to the core. It’s why i try very hard not to waste food or water. It’s why i donate as much as i can, and sometimes more, to help. If it were possible for me to stop the few from abusing the many, trust me, i’d be all over it.

  2. Increased awareness of self. Of others. Takes a little effort but it is true – a little goes a long way when each person contributes in some way to conserving to donating time/goods/money, to saying “hello, how are you doing today?”. We could use a little more compassion in the world.
Thank you for the reminder, Sadje.
