It was a shock when she found out that she was losing her eyesight. The family rallied around her, lifting her spirits and giving her the courage to face this new challenge.
When she started learning to read braille, her daughter used to help her by placing her hands over her eyes and quizzing her. By the time her eyesight diminished, she was able to read braille quite well.
Life throws unexpected challenges our way, but also gives us the courage to face them.

Fantastic response again this week in response to this image. Please click on the links to read the contributions of our lovely participants.
Marise snuck up behind the old lady very quietly. The old lady had sharp ears, probably to make up for the failing eyesight she now had. Very carefully Marise wrapped her hands around the old lady’s head and covered those failed eyes. “Surprise!” said Marise. “Marise!” exclaimed her grandmother, smiling widely, “what a lovely surprise too!” “Aw, said Marise, I thought this time I would surely sneak up on you! I was so quiet.” “Yes, said Grandmother, but you shouldn’t moisturize your hands with that frangipani lotion so well. The scent gives you away everytime!” The two ladies – one young and one old spent the afternoon drinking tea and sharing stories across the generations. A strong tie to know one’s history and important to knowing who we are as a species. MBC ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ©

I was just reading a young adult fiction mystery where brail was used as a clue!
Sometimes things do work well when we apply ourselves 🙂
A happy story!
