In search of gold

Young feet were tiring, but not their spirit
Just a few more minutes, she promised
Slowly they crested the shallow hill
Their eyes were dazzled by the golden glow
The meadow was lit with sunshine striking
The yellow, orange blossoms scattered everywhere
Bright smiles erupted on the children’s faces
An adventure ending in a beautiful reward

  1. I feel this keenly. Memories of taking my children for walks when they were young. Memories of singing “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” and skipping along with them when they began to flag 🙂🙂🙂
