There was a loud crash as the plate slipped from the edge of the table and broke into tiny pieces.
After a moment of stunned silence, everyone jumped into action, some trying to collect the broken pieces and others making sure the kids were out of harm’s way.
Operation clean-up didn’t take long as many hands were helping in the task.
Now was the time for the inquisition!
“Who placed the plate there on the edge where it was sure to tumble down?”
Jack the youngest and the shortest came forward bravely, “I’m sorry granny but it was as high as I could reach” he said, his lips trembling in anticipation of a dressing down but what he got instead was a big hug from granny.

Our actions/reactions are so important. It will be the small kind ones that will change the world. Not big pompous ones.

My daughter once knocked over such an item, and looked at me with worry, so i hugged her and told her that she is more important to me than any item in the house, and it’s true. Your story is just right, very real.
