Beneath the shade of Bunyan tree
Away from the blazing hot summer sun
The lily floating unconcernedly in the pond
Invites me to reflect on the paradox of life
Pure and exquisite it thrives in murky waters
Sometimes even in the swamps of mud and slime
Yet it remains pure, untouched by the muck around it
Can we too remain pure, surrounded by the grime of immortality?

“grime of immortality”! What an amazing phrase! Makes one ponder for sure.

I have never heard of a Bunyan tree, but we have a lot of Banyan trees here in Florida.

what great reflections Sadje as we continue the swim in clear and murky water!
great line:
“Sometimes even in the swamps of mud and slime
Yet it remains pure, untouched by the muck around it”
reminds me of the water at our lake that is alive and thriving with algae.. ha but we need more water! 💖

Thanks a lot Cindy! Yes water is becoming scarce now. We do need to preserve it more.

You have reminded me of some pleasant pond memories and the lily pads I was able to photograph. 😀
