This week, GC and Sue W offer SHORT as our weekend challenge.

➰➰➰
A short memory can be a useful tool
While a long memory can be a device of torture
A journey too short can leave us craving more
Too long a trek and we want it over and done with
Let the life be just long enough for us to
Fulfill our ambitions and plans satisfactorily
But short enough for us to have not overstayed our welcome

It’s called a balanced life. I agree. The best and the toughest to achieve.

Indeed my friend. It’s the ideal situation and difficult to achieve

Yes, I didn’t mention that part, haha–there’s not an inch of empty space in my fridge and freezer…and cupboards 🙂 It’s like hoarding…except I don’t see myself that way 🙂

I think mostly we do it because we want to have stuff at hand. While I was living in Seattle, it was the same for me. Here it’s halfway full and I wait for things to get used up and get more.

Yes, exactly–I need to know I have just about anything “on hand”, as I don’t drive and depend on my caregiver to help me shop. It sounds like you don’t have to worry about shortages there, is that correct? There are 2 stores I shop at–the nearest one is always running out of things I want, very frustrating. And customer service is a lost art–I should give up hoping for improvement 🙂

I get you! No shortages here and plenty of stores to shop from. And I do have people who can get things too.

I tend to have “cooking days” (usually separate from writing days)…which means I have more than one meal/menu in mind–so I keep an organized grocery list going most of the time 🙂

Being organized is such a useful trait.

I am sure there’s a word, it’s melancholy, but that’s not quiet it.
