If I drop one stitch, I don’t worry
But when one by one my clumsy fingers
Drop many stitches in a row, there is nothing left to show
All my hard work, unraveling in bits and pieces
Just like when I let life’s challenges overwhelm me
And one by one the strands holding it together snap
I am afraid to look at the destruction around me
I feel like it’s time to give up, trash the whole project
But my inherent stubbornness stands in my way
Stops me from even thinking of giving up in life or my efforts
And I am still here, still standing and fighting my way
Because of this trait of mine that doesn’t let me give up

Very inspiring Sadje. I felt the sentiments in:
“Stops me from even thinking of giving up in life or my efforts” — I can totally relate.

I find it clever how you correlated the needlework either knitting or crochet with the “unraveling” prompt.
I myself have crocheted but never knitted, must get back to it.

Thanks Myrna. I’ve done loads of knitting over the years but not lately.

My wife used to do a lot of crocheting, but she never finished anything. She would always end up pulling it apart and starting over.
