Sharing my world- March 21,2022

Melanie, our wonderful host has posed these questions for us this week in SYW

What very common thing have you never done? (this one probably is a recycle, but I don’t think it’s terribly recent?)

There are many things that I don’t do now, but may have tried at least once. Like riding a motorbike, which I crashed into a wall and didn’t try again. I don’t ride in a chair lift after I had a tough time get off from one. I also don’t eat any red meat, though I’m sure I’ve tasted it when I was very young and rejected the flavor.

Are we morally obligated to be charitable, if we have the means to?

In my opinion, we are. It’s also part of my faith to give charity or to help others whenever we can. Giving to others gives us a feeling of peace and contentment. If the wealth is not shared in a society, anarchy can result.

What is the most amazing fact you know?

Hmmm….. that eating a diet based on just fat and little protein we can lose lots of weight and fat from our body. It’s crazy, right!

What’s your favorite sandwich and why?

A grilled cheese sandwich with some tart jam in the center. Strawberry or tomato jam. It’s really yummy. Paula once shared her perfect recipe for a grilled cheese sandwich and it turned out amazing. She used tomato slices in the center with cheese.

GRATITUDE SECTION(As always optional)   🌼🌻🌷🌹💐🌺🌼💮🌻

Please feel free to share something you find inspires you.

I am inspired by people going out of their way to help others. Stories of courage also inspire me. And specially when young people do something good collectively, it gladden my heart.

Full moon a couple of nights ago.

Thanks Melanie for asking us these brilliant questions.

  1. Thanks for the reference! Yes, grilled cheese & tomato is wonderful. Also yummy is grilled brie with fig jam and green apple slices ~ a restaurant here makes that, though we could do it at home. Yum!

  2. I could go for a grilled cheese sammy too. I like mine with lots of well aged sharp cheddar, pulled pork (chicken or brisket would work well to for those who don’t eat pork) and fresh made guacamole. You pic is great pic too, has a nice painterly quality to it.

  3. For me French toast is my favorite sandwich…if it is a sandwich…perhaps French chefs may object to my thinking…however😊
I love your last paragraph about the enthusiasm of the young. I so agree when the youth take initiative for the greater good it is heartwarming.

  4. Thank you so much Sadje for Sharing Your World! 🤗 What a beautiful photo, and great clarity in your shot! That moon is gorgeous! Red meat is an acquired taste I think, and oddly if one stops eating it (I’ve eaten a lot of red meat over the years, but stopped because of the cost recently in the U.S. as well as the poor quality of the meat overall) I had corned beef with vegetables for St. Paddy’s Day and got quite sick. I had a friend who was a vegetarian (still ate fish and eggs though) and she couldn’t digest meat at all after a while. A grilled cheese is the go-to back up for most people – it’s easy to make at home, or there are so many delicious variations to be had, such as you and Paula discussed! 😛 Your charity answer was magnificent! Have a splendid week!!

    1. Thanks a lot Melanie! I don’t like the taste of meat and hence prefer vegetables and lentils. Grilled cheese sandwich are so easy to make and so yummy. Thanks

  5. Your first answers remind me of my first bicycle I got when I was 13 and I immediately fell into the driveway which had shards of delivered coal for our furnace and I still have some embedded in my knee. The second thing was the chairlift – the first time I got off a chairlift my jacket got caught in the chair and I couldn’t get it free. Finally they had to stop the chairlift before I was dragged back down the mountain. There’s more but I’ll leave it there😂

  6. I like plain old grilled cheese sandwiches. But the bread has to be almost burnt. Maybe weird, but that’s the way I make it. I never get it at a restaurant because they never get it done enough.
