It was almost 41 years ago that I entered the girls’ hostel of medical college, knowing just two of my classmates.
I made friends quickly with almost all the girls there because we were in the same boat; missing homes and families, eating bad food from the mess, (and falling sick ) and to top it all, the challenging courses being taught at college.
The fact that all the girls were from similar backgrounds and had a zest to do well in college help us bond together easily.
But we weren’t bookworms all the time. The third floor of our building, housing the first years often rang with rambunctious laughter after we pulled pranks at each other.
Some of us “girls” are still in touch with each other and we often reminisce about those carefree days.

W😂w, those were sure fun-filled days. Reminds me of my days in campus too. The foodstuff in mess were quite horrible and camrades protests rampant. What remains of them are just good memories 💕🌟🌟💕🌹

They sure were fun days. It’s lucky that with time we forget the hardships and remember the joys. Thanks

You remind me of the medics in our Halls of Residence – always pulling pranks 🙂 Happy days, indeed, Sadje (although the food was AWFUL).

Thanks Chris! Our food was awful too. The only saving grace was the hot rotis fresh from the tandoor. Often we just had roti and mint chutney

I cannot bring myself to describe the horrors that emanated from that kitchen… 🤢

Better not. In our fourth year, we got to handle the mess for one month and everyone was so happy with the food. We even saved money for a refund.
