Sharing all about inventions and aliens

Melanie is our wonderful host for SYW

What would be the most surprising scientific discovery imaginable?

This is a tough one as science has made so much progress that nothing seems to surprise us. There was a futuristic series I read from J D Robb ( pen name of Nora Roberts) where they had these auto-chefs in each room and they had to just program in the food they wanted to eat and that came out piping hot! That would be an amazing invention, if only it can be done.

If aliens landed on earth tomorrow and offered to take you home with them, would you go?

As they say, devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know, so I would opt to stay on the earth because though many people here on our homes planet are devilish, I know to what extent they can go. ( Or do I???)

What breed of dog would you be? If you’re more a cat person – what breed of cat?

I have absolutely no idea of the breeds of dogs and cats so I can only say that I will be an affectionate dog, loyal and obedient.

Our neighbor’s dog. He always barks at me when he sees me going up the stairs.

Bubble gum? Yay or nay?

I like to chew on gum when I am traveling ( flying especially to prevent my ears from popping ) or when my mouth feels dry. But I’m very careful doing it because I don’t want my crowns to come off. When I was younger I enjoyed blowing bubbles with chewing gum.

GRATITUDE SECTION  (As always, optional)

Feel free (no pressure) to share some gratitude from January of this year.

I’m happy that my younger daughter has recovered fully from her mild Covid. She is reunited with her baby girl. We are back in Islamabad and my grandson is attending in-person school. He has a few weeks to go before he turns 12 and would be eligible for his Covid shot. The weather is getting warmer here and I can almost sense spring.

New buds coming up on the bare branches

Thanks Melanie for hosting SYW and thinking of questions to ask us.

  1. Yey, this is a good post, Sadje. I enjoyed the interview. Having a kitchen robot in every home would certainly make life easier, but hard again because that means less jobs for trained chefs. I personally like bubble gums but when someone chews them loudly beside me, it abhors me, huh, thank God you chew calmly, especially when traveling. I’m happy your daughter has finally recovered and your family’s doing fine. Amazing 👏

      1. Yes, I’m happy for you and for them. And oh wow, thank you so much for taking your time to download the book. I’m so elated. I’ll be glad to see your review on the book page when you’re done reading. I’m filled with much gratitude, dear. ❤❤

  2. Thank you Sadje for Sharing Your World! I’m glad your daughter has made a full recovery and that no one else caught it in your family. Spring for me is the best time of the whole year and I too am looking forward to it, but I suspect we’re months out probably (well one or two at least). Lovely photo showing spring buds! The doggie in the pic is a pug. They’re supposedly very stubborn dogs, and prone to respiratory problems because of their pushed in snout. But everyone who owns one that I know of loves them to pieces. Good choice! I am glad you are in the ‘gum club’ because I was starting to wonder if I had regressed to childhood because I like gum. 😁 Everyone answering SYW before yourself has said they didn’t like gum of any sort, usually because of dental concerns, but one lady cited cleaning it up if one has left it somewhere unwise and stuck it to furniture or shoes (or hair). Still, for me chewing gum is one simple pleasure that the people in charge (allegedly) haven’t been able to ruin. I hope you have a splendid week and thank you so much for participating! 🥰
