That morning, the sun didn’t shine
Everything was shrouded in a haze
The wind dropped to a standstill
The birds didn’t venture out of nests
Was it a portend of a disaster impending
Or a stern warning delivered to us
No one knew, but all were apprehensive
Hearts were heavy, laden with doubts
That day I felt that life had just
passed me by
While I stood a silent spectator, hapless
That was the day I stepped forward to proclaim
My guilt and responsibility as the instigator
Of all the ills that had befallen my home
