Alas my memory!

What wouldn’t I give
To have a fickle memory
My thoughts scattering in the air
Like the dandelion seeds

But my stubborn brain refuses
To let go of any detail, small or big
Like an elephant it has a long memory
Of all my past follies and blunders

The handsome face over which I made a fool of myself
The rash decision I made to be repented later
Words spoken in anger alienating dear ones
All come back to haunt me in the quiet of the night

    1. Thanks Jane. I wrote this poem to fit all the photo prompts. My memory is quite forgiving. I often forget the bad things and sometimes the good things too! 😃

    1. Lol! In his younger days, he wasn’t that impressive but around middle age, he became more graceful. My memory is so selective, I can forget what happened yesterday and remember what happened 10 years ago!
