January 21st, 2022 – Mission

In the years past I was a woman on a mission. That was the time I was doing a diet called Keto! I started Keto when my doctor informed me that I am pre-diabetic! This news galvanised me into taking some strict action and after doing some research, I came to the conclusion that a Keto lifestyle would be ideal for me.

During the time I was doing Keto diet, my mission was to try to convince anyone willing to listen that it was the best possible kind of diet as one didn’t need to starve to lose weight. Suffice to say that this zeal lasted till I was able to follow the diet myself.

My passion for this diet fizzled out when I had to undergo cholecystectomy ( gall bladder removal surgery) and my doctor told me to stay away from keto as it is basically based on having just fats and proteins and no carbs.

It is a strange phenomenon that when I find something that I feel is beneficial for me, I try to convince my family and friends to try it too. Is it only me or do you experience these feelings too?

  1. I have a friend who tried to talk me into a keto diet, but the fats worried me. I already have a tendency toward elevated cholesterol numbers. What works for one does not always work for another.

    1. That’s true. If one sticks to keto 100% then it is over all good for the body. The problem arises when we don’t and it’s a very difficult thing to give up on carbs altogether and one is bound to cheat.

  2. I think that’s pretty universal when we find something that we are exited about or that works for us. I usually give people considerations about options that have worked for me. Thanks for sharing, Sadje!

  3. Oh I do the same thing, Sadje! Whatever I’m high on (enthused about), everybody has to hear about it…over and over, till I come to my senses and back off 🙂 I can’t relate to “dieting”–but I did have my gallbladder out 20-some years ago. Blessings to you–have a great weekend ❤
