SHARE YOUR WORLD QUESTIONS;
2022 Is bearing down on the world. In my opinion 2021 was 100% better than 2020, but it hasn’t been without its own set of problems and fresh worries. I’m hopeful that 2022 will somehow see a return to ‘life before Covid’ , but I also realize that’s a foolish hope.
I think that if we except that world would return to pre-covid days in 2022, we will be disappointed. This thing won’t go away just yet, specially with so many people in many countries refusing vaccinations. But I am hoping that things will keep on getting better gradually. Already we are allowed to travel and meet people. Those who are vaccinated are getting boosters and are safer than those who aren’t. Children are being vaccinated too and going to school in person. I think things are looking up on the whole.
At 12 a.m. on December 31st/Jan 1st, what will you be doing? (use your own time zone please)
I will be, hopefully and probably sleeping soundly in my bed. The new year will start with or without my being there to welcome it. My sleep is very important to me to have a productive day ahead so I will go to bed on my usual time, turning my phone to “do not disturb”.
Is there a tradition you have for New Year’s Eve?
If we can, I and my husband go out for dinner on 31st December. But it’s not set in stone. If any of the children are available, they are invited to join us too.
Do you have any hope or reason you find that next year will be better?
I always have hope. Without hope how can we survive.
What’s the biggest personal lesson you learned during 2021?
I have learned to appreciate my blessings, especially my family and their support. I am also more mindful of the importance of maintaining my own health. If I won’t bother about my health, who else would?
Describe in 1-3 words how you feel going into 2022
Hopeful, positive and joyful.
Many thanks Melanie for this SYW post.
