We dream of heavenly intervention
Someone to descend from above to save us
Prayers uttered in sincerity, faithfully
Heartfelt tears shed on the plight of humans
We forget that God helps those who help themselves
Before handing over all of our troubles to higher power
Take some concrete steps to right the wrongs yourself

Sadje, is there a link for your WDYS that would work every week so I could put it in my favorites? Only way i ever find links for prompts!

I don’t know how to make a perma-link. Every Monday I post a new post so the link is viable for that post only.

I am so terrible at trying to find links. Unfortunately most of the people who follow links seem not to include a link to the post. I ultimately finally give up. I don’t do any blog re/ email as it is too cumbersome. And I don’t usually have time to read the posts of others until evening, so depend on prompts I can put in my favorites..

I guess handing over things to a higher power just gives a sense of security.
There is a story about a man close to bankruptcy, who was given a post dated chq of Rs.5 crores. He solved all his business problems, got his life began in order, and then realised the cheque was given by a lunatic who had no money. It was the thought that he has something to fall back on, that brought him back to normalcy.

You’re right Reena, we rather depend on someone else than take matters into our own hands.

That’s exactly it, Sadje. Being in action in life is so important, creating the life we want to live, as is the faith that we are being guided very step of the way. A beautiful take on a lovely prompt. Thank you!

Thank you so much Jeff. The fine point was the one I hoped came across that having faith also means to try to better oneself.

We do have to take some of our own responsibilities and not wait for someone or something else to do it for us. A higher power can also be that someone. Well done Sadje!

Too often the ‘voice’ of reason is ignored when making choices under stress.
We hope to be saved without effort on our own parts – and you have said just that in an eligant verse 🙂
