Exhausted
Worn out
She rested on the chair
Her body heaving with fatigue
She had given all that she had
And had no more left to give now
Startled
Thrilled
The sound of the applause
Brought her out of her melancholy
People shouting for an encore
Suddenly life looked brighter

For the visually challenged writer, the image shows the silhouette of a woman on a stage, provocatively posed sitting on a chair with the starry night sky behind her and also reflected on the stage floor.

You’re most welcome, Sadje. Always. Ah, got it; just meant I could feel it deeply. I love when I read a poem and, I, for a moment, am that person, thing, or experience being related in the poem. Living through your words. So much fun.

Okay, note I get it too. It’s funny that when I’m writing a personal experience, I sort of feel it too.

Understood. Oh yes, me too. I think it’s part of the experience of creative writing, maybe….

Don’t you think we’d get more done with an occasional applause? I felt that in your poem. Well done!👏

Great job. Wouldn’t it be nice if Moms got applause at the end of their weary days?
