Standing on center stage
Performing our part the best we can
Some want to be applauded, cheered on
Other can’t wait to be done and leave the limelight
Do something that’s memorable before the curtains fall
So that you live in the hearts of all those
Whom you met with, interacted and associated with
When you were playing yourself on the stage of life

Did you do any acting Sadje. Your title made me think about one of my favorite songs by Cream called Badge. The lyrics say, “you better pick yourself up from the ground before they bring the curtain down,” I guess the curtain never comes down till the fat lady sings. This is a lovely poem, thanks for joining in again.

I did some school plays but nothing serious. I was also into speech contest as a young person.
Thanks Jim.

When I was young I played whatever part others wanted me to. At 50 I decided to just be who I am. Lost some who said they were friends. Farewell to them. I am at peace with who I am and happy.

You did the right thing. We aren’t puppets who’s strings are in someone else’s hands.

I wonder what my life would have been like when I was young if knew what I know now? But there were lessons learned then that are valuable now.

Exactly, Patricia. We only learn by experience. Even if someone tells us something, we seldom pay any heed to it unless we experience it firsthand.

Excellent metaphor …life as a stage. An excellent reminder to make each moment count as best as one can.

In my only acting roll, I fell off a pedestal and caused carnage.

Oops! We saw the movie, “Venom, let there be carnage”, last night. A very violent movie.

Ah Sadje, if you knew how I so want this. The little things as much as the big ones.

A wonderful ‘always put your best foot forward’ poem.
I read somewhere that when you get up in the morning (mirror or not) – start the day with a smile on your face!
😀 the positiveness will hopefully permeate all that you do.
