QUESTIONS;
What are some red flags to watch out for in daily life?
I think my cynical side will be answering this one!
People being too nice without reason ( they want something?)
Things too cheap, again no apparent reason ( Faulty, expired goods!)
When the day dawn clear and sunny on a day of an outing
You start from your home in plenty of time to reach your appointment! 😜
What obstacles would you include in the ‘world’s most amazing obstacle course”?
Just navigate around a room where a kid has thrown his lego pieces in a fit of rage.
Who is the best movie or book villain in your opinion? (‘book’ is included because some folks don’t watch movies)
I liked professor Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes. He was one seriously intelligent guy and quite the planner.
What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful/handsome part of your face? (no dissing yourself please, we’re all beautiful/handsome!)
I’d say my eyes which I’ve inherited from my late father. I am the only one among my siblings to do so.
GRATITUDE SECTION 🦃🕊
Next week on Thursday, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. What are some foods you enjoy for your festive celebration dinners? (Doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving, as I realize the whole world isn’t participating in ‘our’ holiday)
Our festivals are our Eids. We normally invite the family over for lunch. The traditional dishes are;
Chicken biryani
Seekh kebabs
Haleem
Naans.
Kheer ( milk and rice pudding) for desert
Sometimes I make roast chicken (whole) or roast leg of lamb on eid-ul-Adha. ( It’s the eid where we sacrifice a goat or lamb in the name of Allah and distribute it among the poor, keeping some for our use)
Thanks Melanie for these interesting questions.

I’ll take your menu over turkey and dressing. Sounds delicious.

Thanks Judy. Yes, it’s delicious and better than Turkey any day. Though I may be biased 😜

Thank you Sadje for Sharing Your World! Your menu for your Eids sounds delicious!! I don’t think they even sell lamb in the store I frequent, and now I want to buy a small roast and try it, yourself and two other bloggers have chosen it as their entrée! Yum! I think the type of turkey the original Pilgrims over here ate, and the version offered today are vastly different, and there’s the whole fresh versus frozen issue as well, as outlined by Marilyn. I don’t think I’ve ever had fresh turkey. Hm. And they have turkey farms in the southern part of Utah too. (smells AWFUL if you’re down wind!) The Lego portion of an obstacle course is really creative! Now add they have to take their shoes off and go barefoot through it, and I think you’ve got a great challenge!😄 From the photographs you shared recently, I’d say your whole face is lovely, but it is a special gift that you got your father’s eyes. You can remember him in a special way by just looking in the mirror! Have a wonderful week!

Ah yes, I forgot the no-shoe part. Believe me, going even half way would be a challenge. Thanks a lot Melanie. You’re right there’s a lot of difference between fresh and frozen.

We love to do roast things on Eid (both Eids in fact not only Eid Al Adha) but to us, a well deserved holiday after fasting Ramadan is the best part of the whole year!!! We are very thankful for all that happens on that blessed day. Can you believe that we are already waiting impatiently for Ramadan! (That’s another thing we’re thankful for) and the family gatherings at Iftar, maybe spending the night up praying and reading Quran till Suhoor… Oh Sadje this post brought back so many wonderful memories, thank you!❤

You’re absolutely right Ebar. Ramadan is so blessed and we look forward to it too. Iftar is truly a wonderful time.

Thanks Jim. It makes for a very painful stroll.

Of course, the key to the obstacle course is that you have to do it barefoot…

The irony is that I love lego too. So I forgive who ever the culprit was.

I was never a fan of turkey but have it once a year on Thanksgiving. I’ve grow to like it the past few years.

It is the tradition so one can accommodate it for one day a year. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I like the tradition that we have done to invite people into our home to share the meal. People we know, who we realize are alone and would like to be included.

That is indeed a wonderful and generous thing to do.

Nothing outside of major surgery hurts quite like a Lego in the arch of one’s foot. Owen was a crazed Lego builder in his childhood (they’ve been around for more than 50 years by now) and when the building didn’t come out right, next came a temper tantrum and a spray of Legos. At some point, even going into his room was considered hazardous duty.

Yes, I’ve been there. 3 kids playing with lego and now a grandson who loves it. I was always telling them to put them away, but…… quite an experience stepping on a piece, bare-footed. 😱

Haha. I loved the LEGO answer, I’ve stepped on many of those in years past. Food sounds delicious.

Thanks a lot Jeff. It’s pure torture to step on a Lego piece bare footed.
