Rendezvous plan gone awry

They had planned to meet under the bridge at midnight, but he never showed up. Peter waited for as long as he could but he had to be home before his parents found out that he wasn’t in his bed sleeping.

On his way home, Peter thought back to their earlier conversation. He was certain that Jack, (that what he called him because his real name was too difficult for Peter to pronounce) meant to keep his promise of meeting him at midnight. Jack was going to take him to visit his hidden lair and show him how he gets in touch with his mothership.

When Peter woke up the next morning and went down to have breakfast, the tv was on and was abuzz with news of the capture of a visitor from outer space. They even showed an image of the capture. Peter now understood why Jack couldn’t come last night.

He was so worried for the safety of his friend. He hoped that the aliens would liberate Jack before anything bad happened to him.
