As I have mentioned before that I have moved to another city, Islamabad, a few months ago. When I first moved here a few months back, I couldn’t believe that this city hasn’t changed at all. If I am honest, living here after a gap of twenty-odd years, I feel that I have gone back in time. The only difference is that at that time my kids were small and school going. And now it’s my grandson who is at that stage.
This is my third stint living here. The first time around I was in school, and we stayed here for 12 years and left just after I joined medical college. The second time was when my kids were in school. That time we lived here for 6 years. Now it’s been 2 months and I don’t know how long we’ll stay here. But it feels like coming home.

Islamabad is full of natural beauty and the climate is cooler than Lahore. I am away from half of my family but it’s a lovely place to live.
I am now having another adventure!

I’ve moved over twenty times in my life. Four with my hubby! Thankfully we’ve been here a while. And even though there have been many changes ~ we are home, as our grown children and the grands live close by.
Most of our family is spread out and requires much travel for visits. And we know that some local family will move to where their own children will eventually settle.
Home is always where the heart is 🙂 Best to you in your new home in your ‘home’ neighborhood (?)

Thanks a lot Jeff. If we had moved to another city where I was a stranger, it would have taken me a while to find my way around. This place holds lots of memories.

Feeling like you’ve come home is a wonderful place to be. A lot of people don’t have the chance to experience that in their lifetime.

I am happy that you are in a place that brings you comfort. I am not much for moving as change is hard for me. But I am really hoping to move to a one story house, nearer the beach. I think I will feel at home there even if I have never seen the area.

I know what it feels like to come “home” after being away and feeling like you’ve gone back in time. I really wish I had had the opportunity to visit Pakistan and maybe someday I will. I heard such lovely stories of the Lahore Gardens and well, K2 is just a stunning site to behold in pictures, so I imagine she is breathtaking in person.

Thanks SadiRose. The Lahore gardens, Shalimar gardens are indeed beautiful. I haven’t been even near K2, not even it’s base camp but it’s indeed a sight to behold in real. I hope you can visit Pakistan one day! Do you have any connection with it ?

I have quite a few Pakistani friends. My ex-husband was Pakistani (from Lahore). His family would talk about Pakistan quite a bit.

Oh I see! Most Pakistani men aren’t the best examples of good men! They aren’t brought up with the right set of values. I hope you still like Pakistanis as people. 😍

I will restrain my agreement with you on that subject. I love all people and the rich culture of Pakistan is one of my favorites.
