Stream Of Consciousnesses Saturday – Lid

Linda is the host of Stream Of Consciousnesses Saturday

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “lid.”Use it in the literal sense, use it in the metaphorical sense, use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

➰➰➰

How many times have you broken your nails trying to open the lid of a jar? I do it every so often.

And I never learn to not use my fingers and nails as tools to dislodge the lid.

And by the way, someone please enlighten me why the lids are jammed on so tight on the jars and bottles that they won’t open without the sacrifice of a fingernail or two?

I think I’ll invent a tool for opening the stubborn lids. Oh wait…… I think there’s already something like that! A butter knife does the job very well.

Next time I’ll try to remember that!

  1. I haven’t broken a fingernail on a jar lately, but I did bend a nail back while trying to open a stubborn cardboard carton. That hurt like heck! I hope your jars are easily opened and your nails saved for future posterity!

  2. When David and I tied the knot a few weeks back I had gotten a french manicure. I was thinking how nice it was staying and then I tried opening something…chipped the tip and that was it. Ugh! Seriously, it is something that I don’t learn from!

  3. I use this type of product works well. Sometimes I use two, one to turn and one to hold the bottle or can. Regent brand multipurpose round grippers from Amazon but I’m sure they are available other places
