Welcome to the weekly #writephoto prompt!

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a table tomb. Whilst a lot of the stonework is eroded, it is obvious this was quite an ornate tomb in its time.
➰➰➰
Sitting forlornly by the tomb of her beloved
Shedding tear of sorrow and regret
It was her burden for ever and eternity
People often become aware of a presence
When they visited this historical place
A wave of sadness often engulfed them
No one was able to find out the story
Of how these lovers were separated by betrayal
Now he was at peace, moved on to a better place
While she still sits and mourns her cowardice

Magnificently penned. A deep loss, a deep regret in mysterious circumstances.

In the murder mystery series I am reading about Victorian England in the 1800’s… there are too many widows.
Too often women didn’t have a say in much when they were married. But were given some respite from that when they had means in their widowhood. That and the attitude to not let others burdens add to their own.

Those were difficult times for women in the western world. In eastern societies, it is still some in poor and uneducated strata of the society.

Mmmm. Wonderfully created, Sadje. Has all the best components, for an unrequited love. Awesome.
