Thursday Inspiration- Stage/ Limelight

Jim is the host of Thursday Inspiration

Respond to this challenge, by either by using the prompt word stage, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘Limelight

Life is a stage and…….

Yes, these are the same old lines from Shakespeare but though these have lost their meaning because of too frequent a usage, they are true in one sense that we all play the part we are allotted by life. At times we are so engrossed and involved in our allotted roles that we fail to see the bigger picture.

The reality of life is that both the minuscule and the immense aspects of it have equal importance. A small irritant can assume gigantic proportions because it may be all that we can think of at that moment. Similarly, a massive problem can be dismissed by a shake of the head because we have the tools to deal with it at our disposal.

A very wise person once told me to look at life from the spectator’s gallery. He said we often need to take ourselves out of the events and look at them from the point of view of an outsider.

Play your part

But don’t get too involved

For this role that we play

On the stage of life

Can end very abruptly

  1. Wise, wise, words, my dear friend. I completely agree. Observing is powerful, as is remembering to be grateful for each moment. I also appreciate your take on the small and big picture. On point, Sadje. A great post.

  2. Very wise words. So profound. The person who advised on taking the “spectator’s role” has impressed me!

On a different note, I hope you and your family are safe. Heard about the 5.9 magnitude earthquake in the South. Hoping you are not from there. Prayers for everyone 🙏 Do be safe. 🤍
