Paula is the host of PCF

Welcome to my Friday afternoon paint chip prompt. There are other paint chip prompts out there, but they’re very precise in what they ask for. Mine is open ~ write a poem, a story, a memory, whatever you like. Take your inspiration this week from Valspar’s “rain dance” and/or “wilderness.” Tag your post Paint Chip Friday, or PCF, if you wish.
➰➰➰
Wandering alone in the wilderness
Getting caught in the autumn showers
A drenching, not unwelcome rather pleasant
Woke in me a desire to revisit my childhood days
When we would rush out in the pouring rain
To dance with siblings and friends alike
Getting soaked to the skin and then some more
Those were the days of freedom from all worries
Now, wandering alone in the wilderness
I recall those days fondly

Loved it! It made me re-visit my childhood memories of rain when we got drenched on our terrace.

I loved to play in the rain. When I had the long walk home from school I would remove my shoes, put books under the umbrella and joyfully get soaked to the bone. Sweet memories.

Nostalgia is a beautifully melancholy feeling. Our senses often hit us with flashes of our childhoods. Lovely piece 🙂

Thanks a lot! I wouldn’t say that nostalgia is always melancholy, sometimes it brings a lot of joy too

I did the same with my siblings. We loved playing in the rain. This is very nostalgic.

Thanks a lot Maria! I think most kids of previous generations did that. Now kids are glued to their screens.

Yes, unfortunately that is true to kids nowadays.

My favorite rain memory as a kid would be after a storm came through with a down pour and about two houses down the block, the street would flood… we would love to spash through there.
