QUESTIONS;
1. What’s your favorite way to exercise? (if you do or don’t. Exercising one’s mind is a valid answer IMHO, because that’s my favorite).
To exercise my body, I walk daily. Recently the duration has decreased a bit as we were busy shifting from one city to another and there was a lot of work to do. And working, unfortunately, doesn’t give you steps.
For my mind, I do puzzles, play card games and do a ton of reading and writing when I blog. I think this should keep my brain active and healthy.
2. What’s more important to you – family or friends?
Both are equally important. Family, especially your intrinsic family is obviously very important. We would do anything for them. But we need friends too as they are the family we choose for ourselves.
3. (a segue of sorts from last week’s SYW)..Have you ever voted for someone (in whatever venue – politics, contests, school elections) based solely on how they looked?
Looks aren’t important if you’re electing someone for a public office. It’s the character and the ability that counts. So the answer to this question is no!
4. (silly one) How could carousels be spiced up so they are more exciting?

Carousel
Carousels are already very exciting so in my opinion, there is no need to add anything extra there.
GRATITUDE SECTION (as always optional)
Please feel free to share something you’ve enjoyed about this September.
September saw us relocating to another city. Thankfully the move went smoothly and we are now settled well in our new home. The only thing that went wrong was that our Kitty couldn’t come with us and during our absence, he has decided to opt for a life as a free cat. We are still hoping that he decides to come home but there’s no sign yet. Perhaps with us, especially my grandson gone from his life, he was too lonely. 😿

Thank you Melanie for these interesting questions.

I love your replies, especially your point that friends are family we choose ourselves. Beautifully penned, Sadje.

My husband is there but Dinky was missing his young human. Now he is adjusting to an outdoor life. Come home for food and water. 🥰

Maybe he’ll change his mind later then. Hope so.

I hope so but I feel he has a right to choose how he wants to live.

Aww, this is exactly what happened when my parents relocated to a different city, the cats didn’t want to move and we miss them. Your’s cat picture reminds me of a similar male cat we had a few years back, even his mother looked the same. Nice write, Ma’am. 🙂

Thanks a lot Kitty. We do miss him but he was lonely with no one to play with him. Now he comes and goes as he likes. It is sad when they want to live a life away from you.

I hope Dinky is okay. Maybe he will come back soon. Several of the outside cats around here that we feed have disappeared lately. I just hope someone has taken them into their house to care for.

He comes for the food at night. I just hope he stays safe. Thanks Barbara

Aw to the Dinky loss. 😦 I’ve heard it said about both dogs and cats, but especially cats, that when you move your home, it’s best to keep the pet penned or inside for up to 6 months. They need a LOT of time to adapt, and will run away and attempt to go to the home they know for a long time. Now was it that you couldn’t take Dinky with you at all? Or that during the move it would have been too stressful to move him? I do hope he comes back.
Thanks, Sadje for Sharing Your World! Such beautiful answers. Carousels are unique and amazing, and I’m a ‘purist’ so to speak, I love them just as they are, with the calliope music and all. I’ve had a small variety of suggestions though ranging from a bit naughty to a lot dangerous probably. I admire your dedication to your walking scheme and am confident you will start afresh in your new area when you’re ready to. The mind sharpeners are great! You do a great job here too, so congratulations! 🥰 Your thoughts about friends being the ‘family we choose’ is so poignant and very true. Lovely! Have a pleasant and stress-free week as you settle in! 🙂

Many thanks Melanie for your lovely and encouraging words. We didn’t bring Dinky here as it wasn’t safe for him while we were in a new neighborhood. My husband was there with him but he was missing my grandson. He was off his feed and wanted to go outside. A few days ago he did just that. Now they put food for him outside and he comes and eat it and then goes away. I hope he stays safe.
Lovely questions my friend.

I had a couple of cats — a brother and sister — go wild. They set up housekeeping in the field across the road and never came home. It was strange seeing them like that. I still have no idea why they left home.

Ours was lonely. I hope he finds friends outside. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your cat! They often get lost tight before a move because they don’t like all the object of the house moving around – they must be more organized than I am. They do love the boxes, though.

It’s okay Rebecca as long as he is safe and happy. Yup, he didn’t like the moving and packing at all. Hid in another room the whole time.

Yes, that’s exactly what he is now. “I’m just here for the food” approach.

I’m sure Dinky will adapt, we have a neighbourhood cat called Steve who got left behind when his owners moved and now we all look after him

Thanks Deb. He comes home occasionally at night to eat. But he is in the neighborhood.
