Welcome to my Friday afternoon paint chip prompt. There are other paint chip prompts out there, but they’re very precise in what they ask for. Mine is open ~ write a poem, a story, a memory, whatever you like. Take your inspiration this week from Valspar’s “cowboy boots” and/or “glass slippers.” Tag your post Paint Chip Friday, or PCF, if you wish

🌀🌀🌀

I have no glass slippers, no fairy godmother

No one to wave the magic wand and transform everything

No Prince Charming waiting for me on those palace steps

I have my wits and grit to build my future

I trust myself and don’t rely on others to perform miracles

Whoever is destined to be my hero

Needs to have his head fixed the right way around

He may ride a horse or wear cowboy boots

But needs to be in tune with my reality
